question on the bed cleats: how well do they really hold up?
it looks like a rubber/plastic part

I am going to help someone move- can I really tie stuff down with it or is this more a delicate little flower?
in the bed is two D-rings up near the cab that are small-ish how well are these mounted? just to the plastic bed liner or to the body?

or should i go for the bolt in rings to the bed floor?

Secure your gear and head out with confidence, knowing that each bed cleat will hold up to 110 lb.

    • Fully adjustable, the bed cleat slides along the vehicle’s bed rail system using a spring-loaded, twist/locking clamp to hold it in place
    • Made of sturdy black-nylon material, each bed cleat measures approximately 6 x 1in.

    Oh look, another mod....

If you want to secure more weight than the cleats will hold (110lbs, per), then strap it to the bed floor with a very strong strap.

I don't trust them for heavier loads. I added rings to the front bed mount bolts like we have in the back. Much stronger and work great for lower loads (like wood) that the bed side ones are too high for.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
I consider them to be not much better than stabilizing a load. Exactly how much force that applies is anyone's guess.
I have a cap, so I'm not really concerned about stuff flying out of the bed.

I use mine all the time. They were not made to strap down and haul the Liberty Bell, but I certainly would not classify their capabilities to be on par with a delicate little flower.
