New bed buddy arrived, looking for some ideas on mounting.

Friend of mine has his mounted upside down, so the center loop is pointing down. That would work but I'm not thrilled about having that loop down.

I'm thinking mount it as high as I can keeping that loop upright, under the channel.

Was curious what you ended up doing and how it worked out? Did you leave it like it is in the photo? We are getting the bed buddy this week and are looking to make sure we do it the best way for the Tacoma. I saw the 2013 post about using it for two sport bikes, which also suggested putting the center loop pointing down. Thx!

Whoops, I haven't logged in for a while. I hope your install went okay.

I ended up flipping it as well, center loop pointing down. I placed two of the cleats in the rail system, and brought the bed buddy up with just enough to clearance to remove and install the cleats (then leveled and drilled). I didn't use the self seating nuts, but rather just standard nuts on the side between cab and bed, and the bolt head you can see below. Getting those nuts started was challenging, even using my wifes hands.
