Long time browser, first time posting.

For anyone interested or curious, I just order a set of Beck/Arnley ball joints and tie rod ends from Amazon for the 98 Tacoma Xcab 4x4 I recently purchased, expecting to receive a quality piece of kit. I did not.

The ball joints and tie rod ends are all Made in Taiwan. Flat black with questionable quality boots. The look identical to the ones at Autozone.

So, I've learned my first lesson, and will be placing an order with Toyota of Dallas. While it's $100 bucks more, I'm sure the quality will be much better.

I used to work at NAPA about 12 years ago. If I remember correctly, BA doesn't actually build their parts, they source them and then rebox. So you really never know what you're going to get or where it's made.

Their rebuilt alternators and starters used to be much better than the NAPA branded stuff. Not sure if that's still true.

Factory Toyota front end parts seem to last forever. I think the extra $100 is well spent.
