So I will be honest, the TRD beadlock Wheels look absolutely fantastic. I don't know how I didn't see them for so long but I definitely want them!

    :drool::drool::drool:

Only question is, do you have to have like special tires for that or does it really matter? I'm not really going to use them for their "intended purpose" I just want them for the fashion... Beadlock wheels are a new thing to me. I read about them and their function sounds pretty awesome although I'm pretty sure for my use they will never actually be pushed at all...

    :p

So is there any kind of downside? Like the difficulty of putting the tire on and maybe some other things I might want to think about? Would it be a total waste to get them for fashion?

They aren't true beadlocks. To answer your questions though special tires shouldn't be needed and as I understand mounting tires on true beadlocks is a pain in the ass.

Oh they are not? Okay well that's fine with me as again as long as they are good quality Wheels I'm just going for the looks.

Do you have these on your taco?

I do not, but I was looking at them. Unlike all the fake beadlocks the rings on these are replaceable so you can take them on and off. They just don't lock the bead.

actually, mounting tires on true beadlocks is easier. I can do those at home but i cant mount normal wheels at home lol. But most dont want to deal with the them driving daily on them. I have them on my rock crawler
these are still fake beadlocks. just have a removable ring. losts of wheels have removable rings.

I have them on my truck. The only downside to the OEM wheel is that they’re 16” and there’s less options at that size for tires it seems. Fn makes knock offs that come 17” if you don’t mind non-OEM.

The OEM wheels are pricey but look great. I love that you can change the ring on the outside if it gets scuffed wheeling.

I've never dealt with beads but I've just seen that it's tedious screwing on the rings. But yes you don't have to pop the bead over the lip with beads making it easier to do yourself.

Other than these and one other set that's slipping my mind I don't know of any other fake beads with removable rings.

I have them. After a year of changing out parts I found that one was bent. I did not buy the truck new so I don’t know how it became bent. I bought a new one on Amazon and things are great. I love the look and the looks I get when other Tacoma owners drive past me. They make the truck stand out. I like the 16” wheel, it lets me have a little more rubber around them.CDC3FDBF-87A7-4DEC-8E79-904EE831B833.jpg

Oh crap. I'm pretty sure my taco has the 17s. I'll need to check.

Fn? Is that a website or a manufacturer?

I stand corrected. I saw a video and a guy had a whole system that took like 30 min per wheel. If you guys are running them and say otherwise then Idk what that guys hold up was.

it certainly takes more time than a normal tire but really when was the last time mounting a tires time was a concern.

Never been a concern of mine since I don't do it haha. I spend hours doing stuff to my truck. If beadlocks were on it the time to mount them all up would be a drop in the bucket.

    Yes we established that. Haha.
Basically looking for something that looks just as good for a bit less, damn things are pricy.

if there’s a beadlock wheel you like odds are the company who makes it probably makes a simulock version

Interesting. Looks like finding something in 17 is going to be difficult though...

I just really want to find something kind of retro looking.
