I did a search and found very little on installing a battery tender on a 3rd gen. I was wondering if anyone has one hard mounted under the hood that would share how they mounted for ideas?

My problem (OK, probably others too) is that I work from home and hardly ever use my Tacoma. I do remote start and drive around the block but that's not keeping the battery up to snuff. The truck is parked outside under a cover.

I grabbed a NOCO Battery Tender and trying to decide where to mount. I see there is a place on the drivers side fender with 2 open threaded 10mm bolt holes. I'm looking at creating a "mount" for that location but I always seem to overthink things. The mount wouId be aluminum and rubber isolated as well.

I don't like the self-tapping screws in the fender nor a couple of tye-wraps on the battery method. I thought of mounting on the fuse cover however don't want to drill thru and cause water issues.
Looking for any ideas. I'll post my setup once done for anyone else.
    Thanks

I'd wire it like a motorcycle tender is setup. Easy. They have a pigtail that stays on the battery and a matching one on the tender. Just google search it. Easy to find.

Trigger sells a lightweight aluminum tray that mounts to the threaded fender holes. You'll probably need to drill two holes on the tray to match the bolt pattern of the tender. https://triggercontroller.com/product/trigger-toyota-tacoma-bracket/

The other option is to mount the tender on the garage or carport wall and just run the 12V wires to the vehicle. I mounted mine in a nondescript plastic stationery case to avoid drawing attention and to contain the wires when it isn't plugged in.

I installed a port inside the drivers side wheel well. Allows me to plug in my tender or a solar panel without even having to pop the hood. These pictures were my temporary mount, I have since made a HDPE plate that connects to the top clip for the splash gaurd.

This is how I have mine mounted. Only the wire sticks out of the grill.
