What kind of battery life do you folks get out here in Phoenix.

Typically 2 years is about as good as it gets and I'm coming up on 2.5 years on mine.
Should I bite the bullet and just replace it -

I got stuck a few years ago in Yellowstone in my wifes Subaru -
Luckily at a ranger station as I was stopping in to pick up a fishing license
otherwise my grisly remains might still be out there. Her battery was about 2
years old as well, ( subaru came thru and reimbursed me ).

I think I'm on about 1.5 years with the 24f agm everstart from Wally World. This summer has been rough. I'll probably swap it next spring for peace of mind. Toyota Truestart prior lasted roughly 4.5-5 years before it started leaking. Costco battery in the old Camaro typically lasts 8 months to year, but it's not driven much. I'd say 2 years is decent. :notsure:

Really depends on how often the vehicle is used and how much it sits in the sun.

For some it is two years, for others it is 5 years. If you keep it out of the sun and in some shade, should help prolong life.

But if you are thinking about it, just replace the battery. Can’t replace peace of mind.

I think the NeverStart ... I mean EverStart is a decent battery from what I've read. I've also read that these AGM Batteries need a bit of
maintenance to keep them at 100%, and are heavier.

I drive it around daily - not too much in the summer it's fking hot as hell as you know. But short trips - groceries and back or
around the 'hood to pick up mail. And there ain't a square inch of shade either - gonna ease over to Batteries Plus and have them
test it see what it looks like - will probably just replace it before a trip I got planned mid September.

Was just there yesterday getting my Goal-Zero battery ( and chain battery ) checked out and saw those.
The only thing I don't like about those AGM batteries is you need to mess with the alternator so they correctly re-charge the AGM,
and they are really heavy to boot and they are like triple the price of a NeverStart ( i mean everstart )....

I never changed my alternator charge rate. They are heavy though.

Apparently upping the charge rate will help maintain the AGM at optimal rates, and extend the life.

I did upgrade to a 140 amp alternator. I guess that would up the charge rate but not voltage.

I use a Noco Genius 10 to keep the everstart charged. It's about 5 lbs heavier than the oem battery. Also keep a noco boost in the truck just in case.

After much to do about batteries I'm gonna buy a NeverStart, I mean EverStart for $139 and leave it at that.
Probably stop by Autozone and tip a dude $10 to save-settings and install it - I'd need a damn step stool to get into the engine anyway.

I have one that I carry.

My 17 year old son has been using it all summer to help friends. Starting to think some of these young women are intentionally leaving their lights on to have him come bail them out.

I thought HE was using it as an excuse to go out late. So I went with him the last time. It was a legit call for help.

But I kind of feel like a cock blocker now...

Just kidding! Loving this shit! He cock blocked me for years, so fuck him! Payback is a bitch!

Read up on this thing appears to be pretty well reviewed - but I'm confused about the reverse-polarity protection setting.
What does that do ( or not do ) .. I mean red is red and black is black how difficult is it to get it right?
