Seen lots of random posts on ball joints and many not so good on TTX (Metotech green) and Moog but here is a current list I have to choose from at 203K on an 2009:

    1. Dorman Premium XL
    2. Moog limited lifetime
    3. Metotech green (same as NAPA chassis TTX)
    4. TRW 3/36k
    5. AC Delco
    6. NAPA Proformer 12/12k
    7. NAPA Fleet orange 3/50k
    8. 555 Sensei maybe on eBay under Hilux
    9. OEM not listed in USA only control arms

If you have used any of these how have they worked (boots falling apart/loose/etc)
OEM would be best but that means 4 control arms and all new alignment bolts/plates.

Proforged is another good quality name brand of BJs. And Metrix are a affordable brand name I’m seeing on Amazon.

I just replaced Premium XL lower BJs with about 60K miles. I got them on Rockauto before Dorman added them to their line. When I removed them they were very loose and one had slight play. So, I would replace them by 50K if I got them again. I do off-road but mostly in the dez, as oppose to the harsher conditions encountered in rock crawling and even gravel trails. The boots held up fine and, despite the play off the car, they performed well up until I removed them and had no perceptible play when checking them installed on my truck. I replaced with Moog BJs.

I ran Mevotech ttx lower ball joints for less than 3 months before the boots on both sides of the vehicle "fell off" 2291C106-6DC7-4D9C-8ABE-5A5BA5200701.pngFollowing that I sourced 555 Senkei which appear to be OEM. This is the part number B6B29C44-3049-46B2-82C4-4EC0859D4E55.jpg

I spent a former life as a product manager for an aftermarket chassis parts distributor....I've cut open ball joints and TREs from every factory out there...they're all shit compared to OEM toyota in a load bearing joint. Sankai 555 is NOT an OEM part, it's simply an aftermarket factory that happens to be in Japan that doesn't do things like toyota OEM specs call out....most the 555 stuff I've torn apart has been metal on metal, not a poly lined joint like OE toyota stuff.

I won't use aftermarket chassis parts unless OEM is no longer available.

    Update
I used an injection needle and loaded the 4 ball joints and 2 tie rod ends with grease for now as not loose.
Only 203k so far so will do when they get loose.
OEM control arms are $1000+ to do as all alignment bolts/cams will also be needed so I can wait.
My alignment has been good for over 100k so why mess with it as tires wear perfectly and steering good.
