Hey all, I want to share my install on the Baja Designs S8, Baja Designs Dual Switch Harness & Cali Raised Dual Function Toyota OEM "Amber White" Switch. I spent quite some time searching for answers online and found some great stuff, but not exactly what I needed. I pretty much suck at wiring, but this is what worked for my application. I wired it straight to the BD Harness and did an add-a-fuse for the back light illumination. Both the amber back light and LED lights work without the accessories being on, as I want to be able to turn the light on at any time.
When you cut the 2 switches off of the harness, you are left with 4 wires. Throw away color matching as only the "Blacks" are attached to each other. I used some Male/Female insulated connectors from Ace Hardware that let me try every combination until I found what worked.

[IMG] [IMG]This is the layout before final switch installation. You can see that none of the color matching makes sense, but it works. This picture would have saved me a bunch of time researching.
[IMG]Switch back light is blue when accessories are turned on,[IMG]and white when buttons are depressed. [IMG]I used M8-1.25 hardware from Ace Hardware to screw the relay's into the engine compartment threaded
inserts, [IMG]and zip tied the spaghetti. I will prolly be moving the switch to the panel under the head unit and trimming the extra harness wire. But for now, I am happy to have solved the riddle. I hope this helps.

Where did you mount the light bar. I’m mounting my S8 light bar now using the Baja Designs lower grill brackets and it’s sitting about 1/2” to high. There’s space beneath the light bar and the top is hitting the bottom side of the grille.

I had the same issue. With the screws slightly loose, I put the handle of a hammer on the bracket and smacked it with a rubber mallet a few times a side. This got it seated enough to clear the bottom of the grille. The grill does sit on the light bar a bit, but it all seated nicely. You can always egg out the mounting bracket holes a touch as well.

I ended up using a fender washer between the bumper and bracket on just the top bolt. I don’t like that I had to do it that way but it did line up pretty well.

wiring the switch this way, would keep the blue lights on all the time instead of on when you turn your dash lights on.
after messing around with it I came up with
    Green, power into your switch
    Yellow, dash lights
    Black, ground
    Red, to the other relay
Blue, to one of your relays,

It depends on what space you use for your add-a-fuse. I tried the "sunroof "fuse first, which is always hot, and they stayed lit. I followed up with the "p outlet" which only works with accessories turned on, and proper back light was achieved.

Resurrecting this thread - hoping to get some insight:

I have the same 64/0122 wiring harness (connected to a BD S8 40) with two switches from BD, and a tall dual switch from Caliraised. I have connected them based on the wiring layout @Baja Action Drone shared. The bright lights work; however, the amber backlight isn't. I'm trying to narrow down which of the components is faulty: the light bar, harness, or switch. Unfortunately I don't own a multimeter, and I can only wire things if I have an instruction to follow.

    Any insight please?

@in2seconds Looks like there was no response to your question. Did you solve for the backlights? I tested my S8 with the BD switch and everything worked. I followed the wiring diagram above and had the same problem you described. Wondering what I need to do differently.

i followed the wiring in the top post. It works but switch stays illuminated and backlight on led light bar does not work.

I found that the Caliraised switched could have the wire colors flipped. The correct pin layout is this though:
    upload_2023-12-9_16-53-8.jpg
If you want the S8 backlight to be controlled by the amber switch then connect it to the first pin. The switch being illuminated all the time means its plugged into a constant hot source.

for S8 to dual switch, assuming you are using the 640122 harness, I'd wire it this way:
    Yellow 640122 to Pin 2
    Green 640122 to Pin 1
    Black 640122 to Pin 3 / Ground
    Red 640122 to Pin 5 / 12v Source
Add-a-fuse to Pin 4 then tap to P/OUTLET2.

I'm resurrecting this thread. Same as you, I'm using a Baja Designs 640122 harness and the Cali Raised dual "Amber/White" switch. If I follow your post above correctly, the Cali switch ships with the red and green wires swapped from your helpful diagram above. Funny thing, you can see from switch wiring pictures on Cali's website, it matches the above diagram - blue, green, black, yellow, red. Unfortunately, they ship as blue, red, black, yellow, green. Following your direction above, I created the following wiring pic. Would you mind taking a look to make sure I'm correct? Thanks for your help. Dave

This looks correct to me! Pin 1 is the Amber switch I believe, which should be connected to the green 640122 wire. Pin 2 is the White switch and should be connected to the yellow 640122 relay wire. Pin 5 connects to the red 12V source 640122 wire.
