    Hey all,

I’m a recent new member to TacomaWorld and wondered if anyone else has had issues with their Baja Designs S8 light bar and the dimming function of the SPOD. I’ve had the light bar and the SPOD installed for three years or so and use it in inclement weather. But I was messing around with the SPOD settings in my garage today and noticed that at anything less than 100% output, 1/4 of my 40in light bar is dimmer than the other 3/4 of the light bar. When the truck is powered off, but all of the auxiliary lights are powered on at 100% output, this same 1/4 section of light bar will mildly flicker.

I doubt Baja Designs would still send me a replacement if they’re defective and I’m going on 3 years of mild use, but I’m also curious if this is an expected or anticipated issue. When I got the light bar, that same portion of lighting had an issue with flickering/going dark and the overlanding shop I bought the light bar from performed authorized repairs and reinstalled the bar. Just wondering if anyone can shed light on my scenario or let me know if Baja Designs would assist. Why would the dimming function cause 1/4 of the bar to behave differently than the rest of the bar? And only when not at exactly 100% output?

Isn’t Baja designs warranty on defects a lifetime warranty? If it is an issue with the light it should be good. @Baja Designs may be familiar with the issue also.

    Hey @ccjiv94,
Thanks for supporting Baja Designs. I hope you are enjoying your S8 despite having this issue. I recommend doing a bench test on the bar to see if it's working as it should. If there are any flickering or dim sections, please send me some photos to bill@bajadesigns.com. I have also sent you a PM on our warranty process.

    Best,
    Bill

    Thank you, Bill!

Based on @ccjiv94 title under his screen name I assume he may need guidance on what a bench test is.
