I have been looking at the Baja Design squadron r and the Diode Dynamic SS3. I was thinking of doing the SS3 sports as fogs and getting the SS3 pros for ditch lights. OR..... Doing Baja Design Squadron sports as fogs and getting the squadron pros as ditch lights. The pros would be brighter so I want them as ditch light either way. What do you guys think?

Suggest going to the search box, top right corner on the page and trying (Baja Designs vs Diode Dynamics). You will get many references without the remarks of how many times it's been asked....

FWIW - from a few posts I've seen, many like the DD lights, even the SAE versions over the Baja Designs. Did see where they (BD) are coming out with a new light pod but not until January. Didn't give too much info, other than it's the next greatest thing...

DD has historically been more "affordable" compared to BD. Usually, you get what you pay for, but my DD fogs are holding up great after 3 years so I'd say they're pretty solid.

On the road so I can't knock out a full reply here, but I'd be happy to help clear up some mud in terms of which light is best and where. If you give me a call I'd be happy to help. 406-936-0206

@VERTIGO I ended up just buying a Diode Dynamics light bar from @memario1214
Great customer service, great packaging, and fast shipping. I would highly recommend purchasing from him. It was also cheaper than going directly through Diode Dynamics.

I bought the SS3 Max selective yellow fogs (non back lit) and SS3 Pro ditch lights (back lit) from hotshotshotoffroad. I highly recommended them. The sports and max's will have a cleaner cut off line than the pros, but the sports won't get hot enough to melt ice/snow like the pro and max versions will. I prefer Baja designs for light bars (S8) and Diode Dynamics for fog and ditch lights.

For fogs to be used on road, definitely DD (and this coming from an otherwise Baja fan boy); for all other lights to be used offroad, Baja.

Baja makes excellent lights; great useable light throw with no annoying artifacts/hotspots; but they just seemed to miss the mark on their SAE fogs (still too bright for your average oncoming traffic unless you aim them way down; DD has a much better useable on-road fog pattern).

Thanks for bringing this topic up. Keep an eye out for our New SAE light that is said to blow our current SAE option out of the water. I'm excited to bring some more information to you guys once we get closer to its release.
We are also going to be doing a free upgrade program for anyone running our current SAE light to the newest technology. How many companies can you tell me are offering that?

    I run BD Squadron Pro on ditch mounts and Squadron Sport in the pockets;

Zero complaints except that BajaDesign will ruin you from ever having another brand..
Also use spot lens on the Pro with a yellow rock guard when in use, and yellow combo lenses on the Sports.
Changing lenses is simple, and putting covers on and off takes a second.

Would never run these in traffic though.

Just a bit more information for your reading while considering our products, Baja Designs is one of the few brands that offer a Lifetime warranty on all of our lighting products. In addition to this, we also have the adjustability to switch out the light lens after the sale to different patterns as well as colors through Uservice. This is a great bonus that most brands do not offer especially if you want to repurpose those fog lights down the road. We also just released our ELS which will give our lights a scale rating from 1-10 LUX. This will give you an idea of just how far our lights will shine usable light so you have any idea on different package levels while considering. Not only do you have a lifetime warranty on our lights you are also buying a light that is fully waterproof through MoistureBlock and IP69K rating. Something to mention when browsing out lights, your not just paying for an light but simply paying for the peace of mind that you can always count on us after the purchase to help out or make it right so that light last you as long as it can. For more questions feel free to reach out.

@Baja Designs quick question: if you buy them lightly used from someone, do you guys still honor the lifetime warranty?

For that situation, we do not. We require proof of purchase on our lights to honor the lifetime warranty. With that being said you can still send in the light for a paid repair and then from that point on they will be covered under the repairs we perform with that lifetime warranty. I will link the warrant page below so you can read over it.
