I am about to pull the trigger on the Badlands Apex 12000 winch for my 2019 TRD OR manual transmission. I have the Hooke Road Reaper front bumper. I cannot find compatibility information on the interwebs. Does anybody know if the two are compatible specifically? And more generally, will the Apex 12000 even fit in front of the radiator? I apologize in advance if this has been discussed in detail previously, but the most recent posts I could find are from 2020.

I would call the manufacturer, they should have the dimensions, and maybe a list of compatible units.

Call company for info. You will need a relocation bracket for the control box that mounts to radiator support.

the 12000 pound badlands uses the same winch mounting pattern as warn winches, which should be the same as any other winch of a similar capacity.

i installed my badlands in an sdhq hidden mount, which shdq states was designed around installing with a warn zeon winch. there were no modifications needed to install it to the mount.

you will definitely need to relocate the relay/wireless controller. 'easy' method is one of the many relocation kits, but that puts a gigantic hunk of cast aluminum in front of a big part of the radiator. the top left part in this picture.

i didn't like blocking my radiator that much, and the relay/wireless controller portions are all 100% waterproof, so i mounted mine with some riv-nuts to a crossmember, along with the hardwired controller cable connector, in case the battery dies on me.

it was going to take just as much effort to block 40% of my radiator as it was to disassemble and mount the individual components!

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I know I'm a first gen guy, but this winch isn't supermassive or anything. I fit one in a pretty tight bumper without much fuss. I doubt it is any bigger than a warn 10k winch
