Ive got an ARB deluxe bumper on an '07 single cab, got a Badlands 12,000 lb winch to put on it.
Anyone done this install and have any comments or suggestions.
Any mods that had to be done?

Okay, the ARB bumper you will need to clock the controls for the winch from the 12 o'clock position to likely the 9 o'clock position, maybe a tooth or so more depending on your hands. I'd recommend removing the control box and mounting it elsewhere(ARB in the box has a bracket for the control box), as if you ever need to plug your winch controller in, you're fishing all through the skid plate or removing the front grill. to gain access not fun at all on the trail. at the moment mine is mounted behind the grill. I don't own a badlands, but do own a 12k iron man. that i installed last summer.

things to know before you install, get your fairlead on your bumper before install make sure you have the "updated" model of bull bar bumper. if not, you're paying for a conversion or a Factor55 fairlead. well, any offset fairlead will likely work.

get a rivnut setter and replace all of the stupid cage nuts or go buy more cage nuts because at least one will likely be damaged or rusted really bad.

have a friend available for re install, or even a engine hoist and some straps to lift and help out. That bumper and winch won't be light. mine was at least 200lbs with the winch and bullbar.

now mind you most of my experience is installing after the bumper was on the truck. after the fact. also be prepared to swap hardware my lower bolts were a bit long through my bumper.

and ARB bumpers are built with a WARN winch in mind.

Something I ran into recently with my ARB was crap hardware (directly from Warn!) shearing under an extremely modest vertical load on their offset fairlead. Regardless of who you go with (Factor55, Warn, a couple Aussie companies, whoever), pick up some 3/8" x 1 3/4" grade 8 bolts for the fairlead. Plain stainless square nuts should be fine (to fit inside the winch feet inside the bumper), there's essentially no tension load on those bolts.

    Here's a thread with p/n for the fairlead: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/arb-warn-evo-synthetic-fairlead-type-answered.733495/

Here's a thread about wiring/relocation of the solenoid box, it won't fit inside the bumper and I don't like leaving them exposed on the exterior: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...nch-runs-and-more.712981/page-3#post-26477405

There's a break in the conversation but hardwiring for in-cab controls picks up at post #59. The pinouts and splicing for my Warn EVO series may not apply, but the wiring path stuff will regardless of what kind of winch you have.

Depending on tolerances, you may also need to trim a tiny bit of the bumper if there's a "lip" that protrudes into the fairlead opening. Just get your fairlead on, mark the trim line with a scribe or paint pen, pop the fairlead off, and get after it with a dremel or even a file, it shouldn't be much material at all. Remember to round the cut edges and touch up with decent paint (I like POR15 top coat for stuff like this)

wow that makes me want to see if i still have the paperwork and see if i see any notation of bolt hardness, my iron man came with 10.9 if I remember correctly.
