Hey all - This forum has been extremely helpful to me. Thanks! First post here..

I bought a 2007 Tacoma that has an aftermarket Kenwood KDC-348U and the radio reception is terrible. I started by replacing the antenna base and bezel based on this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/poor-radio-reception-fix.98687/

That improved it somewhat, but it's still terrible. I didn't end up replacing the antenna itself when performing that repair, just the base / bezel / nut. Reading around, it seems people often forget to hook up the "antenna amplifier" when installing aftermarket units. Unfortunately when looking at the 2007 Tacoma wiring diagram, I'm not able to find an antenna amplifier. Am I just not seeing it? Any suggestions on things to try or where to go from here? I'm a bit stumped and a bit bummed as I listen to the radio all the time.

    Thanks for your help.

Another brand has what is called a "supertuner," which is advertised to have greater sensitivity than the other brands. That is what I put in mine and have no problems.

Did you plug in the antenna to the back of the head unit? If so, was it snug? It may have popped out during your re-install. You need to pull it apart and double check it, no way around it.

My antenna got snapped off last night. Is there anyway to just replace the stubby screw that the antenna screws onto or do you have to do all new antenna??
