When I put my 2016 Tacoma in reverse with the parking sensor on, the beeper is constantly beeping. I’ve cleaned the sensors and the backup camera but it still beeps. I don’t have a hitch or anything obviously within its view. It started anytime it would rain, now it does it constantly when turned on and in reverse.

    Any thoughts?
Any way to test the sensors? I’ve seen the replacements on Amazon, but not sure which sensor(s) might be broken.

Kinda Sounds like a short in the sensor. Water got in making it short when wet, now it’s corroded making a permanent short. You can test them with a multimeter, info should be in the Toyota maintenance manual if you have a copy of that.

I had it happen today as well (rained two days). I turned it off, two key cycles later, it’s working as normal.

maybe not much help, but I would ask dealer if no one on here can help...

Same issue on my 2016 Tacoma. Passenger rear sensor alarms when in reverse during and after moderate to heavy rain.

I’ve researched aftermarket sensors as factory ones are 200 each. I’m a little unsure on aftermarket based upon reviews.

This is an annoying issue. I found a new factory sensor on eBay for much lessor cost. I’ve decided to replace the sensor but retain the old one in case anyone were to discover a fix for this issue

    Bad sensor or harness issue.

On many cars, you can liiiightly touch and move your finger around the sensor and you'll feel it clicking when it's on and working. Maybe youll get lucky and all but one will be clicking and you found your bad one. I'll have to check mine this evening, I really want to know if ours click the same way; no way I'll remember though.
