I'm wiring a backup camera and have a question about the power setup.

    So far, I’ve got:
    • Black wire (ground): Connect to a ground point.
    • Green wire (trigger): Wire to the reverse lights to activate the camera when in reverse.
    Now here’s my question:
For the optional "always-on" power line, can I wire it into the running lights? I don’t see myself using the backup camera outside of reverse too often but having the option to turn it on sounds nice.

Would this simple setup work, or would I need to use a different power solution? Any advice would be appreciated!

You can wire it to the radio’s accessory wire, or the cig lighter.
