I just installed this over the weekend. Used the PAC Audio Tacoma specific install kit so everything is plug and play. Everything works just fine except my backup camera won't trigger when in reverse and I can't get Android Auto to work. The camera works fine from the camera page and I can toggle between my front and rear cameras perfectly. Just nothing when I shift into reverse. In regards to Android Auto, I tried 3 different cables including the one that came with my phone and 2 different phones. OnePlus 10T Pro and OnePlus 6T. Neither of those work. But my Apple work phone plugged into the same USB port runs CarPlay just fine.

***Tried my wife's old Samsung phone. Had to go through all kinds of updates but after it finished, I tried it on this deck and low and behold, Android Auto works! I guess it just doesn't like my OnePlus phones.

***Stinger was able to find the issue with the backup camera. I have a manual transmission and these trigger the reverse signal differently that the autos. So you do have to cut the purple and white wire on the stereo side and tap into the #2 wire on the 28 pin connector on the truck side. That wire is grayish green. Once you do that, it works perfectly.

Pic just cause, ha. I really dig the stereo. 10" touch screen with a volume knob and now everything works like it should including the steering wheel controls. Which is a first in my car stereo adventures with this truck, haha.

I did discover that the Anytime Camera mod does not work with this unit though. Which is fine because it does have inputs for 4 different cameras. So once I pulled that out everything was back to normal. Just have to access the camera button in the touch screen instead of an actual hard button.

Do you have the JBL package on your truck?

I think the JBL trucks have a factory amp.. do you plug the harness into the port for “no amp”, or “with amp”?

Do you happen to have a picture of the location of said connector?

No JBL in my truck. So I plugged mine into the "Non-Amplified Audio Output."

I just discovered this on TacomaBeast website. It looks “easy” to install. How much are you loving it? It’s a pretty penny but looks factory. Debating on this right now.

I'm happy with it. Haven't thought once about takiing it out like I did with the others.

    My complaints are minor.

1 - takes too long to access my ipod. It is even one of the newest touch's before they got axed.

2 - not even the stereos fault, ha, I need a better camera. I have the Natika for my front cam and every time I go wheeling and use it too long, it overheats, or at least thats my guess. My screen will flash the camera view and then black when it has been too long. Then I'll take a break for 15-20 minutes of not using it and it goes back to working normally.

anyone here have a 21 premiumMT with this issue?

I’ve attached photos of my wiring harnesses. Really hoping someone here has the answers!

It looks like it should be the gray wire on this plug. Have you tried the gray one circled?

Yes, I have tried it. Gonna give them a call today. Thanks for the response!

    Edit: solved.
Somehow, my positap was bad. Swapped the tap and it’s working great. Talk about wasted time

@shaggy135 thank you for taking the time to help me out. I really appreciate it.
