    Doh!!

    I backed into my friend's garage with my rear canopy window open. I was going slow so nothing broke per say, other then the the seal to keep out the rain. That and the window frame is visibly bent and requires a little tug to the left when closing the window. Otherwise it opens, closes, and locks shut as expected.

    Since the glass isn't cracked, I think its safe to assume that the damage is confined to the frame only. Upon removal of the frame, I'll check for damage on the fiberglass shell, but I think that part is fine.

    So my question to the TW Community is;
    Any advice on how to fix this before I try? I plan on camping out of this so no leaks allowed.
    I know I'm not the only one who has done this.

    It comes down to how finicky you are !!

    Myself I would use it like it is .

    Maybe you need to replace the door if you can buy one from the manufacture of the shell the frame looks ok from the pictures

    Not sure I follow. Do you mean just remove the window and reinstall, allowing the gasket to reseat itself?

    I'm pretty finicky!

    I think I'm going to remove the back window and see if I can straighten out the frame with a few pieces of wood and a hammer. I'll let you know how it goes when I get to it. I'm going to wait until Monday for the smoke to clear before I try. If I cant find a new gasket, does anyone have a liquid gasket recommendation? Some sort of RTV silicone sealant perhaps. Will tighten slowly in star pattern... Also, anyone know of the torque spec offhand for something like that...lol (Pretty sure I'll just be going by feel).

    This is actually pretty helpful. I have slightly different damage then he does but it gives me a few ideas like straitening the frame for the window in the vice grips. I'm going to head out there now and start taking a look at it. Thank you for sharing this.

    I did exactly this - had a friend "guide me back" while we were moving at night, then whoops! My bad duuude...

    I bought another camper shell that was roached for $140 but had good windows, and used all the good windows and parts from one to the other. Replaced the bent/tweaked frame and window with a used frame and window. Super simple, all self tapping screws.

    They are typically aluminum extrusion frames, so your chances of bending it back straight and the frame not cracking are slim. Also parts from the manufacturers, if you can get them, are stupid expensive.
