Is there a way to center the “crosshatch “ on the blue line so it would be directly behind the hitch instead of off to the passenger side?

I'd speculate that it'd be unlikely. It's overlay is centered on the camera's view.

I don't know but I'd suspect so. The camera isn't centered so, if in fact the line overlay is centered on the image, the lines won't be either.

Pretty sure it's because of where the camera is on the tailgate. The camera isn't centered

    Yes it made no difference.
I was curious if anyone else’s is off centered before I talk to the local stealership to get it centered if others are centered.

can't. it's a pre-generated grid that is centered on the camera image. the camera is off center, therefore the image and the grid is off center.

Must be your camera alignment. Mine is dead on centered.

Ok so yours is dead center even though the physical camera is off center.
When you get a chance will you post a picture with a hitch in the receiver for reference?
If I’m going to go do battle with the service department over this I would like some “dry ammo”.

My solution was to calibrate myself, but mine is the exact same way as yours. Only learned recently when I started towing with it.

:angrygirl:Now I'll never be able to unsee that.

What's REALLY fun is when the bed is full (mattress/box), tailgate down, and you go to back into a driveway :censored:

Lol. Save your Karen energy for something that actually matters and remove the hitch when you aren’t towing

I don't have a hitch but I can see my grid offset the same way in relation to the bumper.

As others have said it's due to the camera being off center.

The camera is focused on the blue cross which you'll find is your truck center. As you get closer to the truck the view looks off center but the grid is correct.

Try backing up straight to an object you can clearly see and get it on the target. Then get out and look. You'll see it's centered to your truck.

I can verify this. Learned about it hooking up to my trailer. Thought I was going nuts.

There is no point doing battle with the service department when it is Toyota who offset the camera. Mine is exactly the same. The only way to correct it would be to centre the camera in the tailgate.

I just don't use the hash mark to line up my hitch and trailer. I use the hitch ball and receiver to line them up. For some reason this works every time!

I don’t use them either as I’m real used to backing into a trailer,I was just curious if others were the same way as ours. I’m well aware the camera is off center in the tailgate.
One person responded his was centered so if his was then I had a issue but evidently he may be mistaken.
Just so no one is confused at to what our backup camera shows I included these pics.
Now that we have established that all cameras are that way …..no harm ,no foul, all good.
    Thanks to everyone that responded.IMG_1256.jpgIMG_1257.jpgIMG_1258.jpgIMG_1259.jpg
