It seems lately that I'm losing traction on very lite wet pavement flat and in an incline. This is a new behavior with my truck, and I'm a bit concerned that might be an issue with my truck?
Any thoughts what might cause this?

Check your tire pressure on a monthly basis. My 10 month old Michelin Defenders which have lots of tread lift left were doing that in September weather - turned out I let my rear pressures had gone down to 28 psi. This truck is very sensitive to tire pressures.

Also, it's Autumn now and depending on where you are, there could be wet leaves on the pavement which can cause you to lose traction.

Same here - actually, not just my tacoma but also my wifes SUV and my sons car all had tire pressure warning light come on on the same day earlier this week. All 4 tires on all 3 vehicles were about 5psi low. Cold weather does it every year although not all on the same day.

Bad tires or just having a heavy foot going from a stop to start on wet inclines.
Its a truck with rear wheel drive and no weight in the back. You’ll get some slipping if you aren’t careful.

Same. I have ToyoAT2s that were fantastic new, but now at ~50k miles later even though they have plenty of tread remaining they just plain suck with traction. Not sure if the compound just hardens up or what. Turning and then accelerating has become a bit scary with traction control going nuts.

New tires on the way lol.

6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
    Another vote for new tires

This normal for a 2nd Gen Tacoma, Toyota solved the wheel spin problem with the 3rd gen.

The 2 most common reasons for this problem: #1. worn tires. #2 heavy right foot.
Bonus thought: toss a couple of sandbags in the bed for a bit more weight.

    stock tires? they are garbage

but even with new tires....incline, rwd, incline, pickup with most of the weight up front....not too difficult to get them spinning

also check your application of throttle. Smooth on and off, avoid jamming the pedal down

What settings do you have the traction control on? I believe the "auto lsd" mode can skip more and it doesn't control engine output.

See the skinny pedal on the right? Don't push it so hard.

I mean it. You can do donuts on DRY pavement with a 4-cyl if you push that pedal too hard.
