Axe / shovel lock

Hi guys
I just installed these yesterday, anyone know a good way to lock them so they do not get stolen?

 

Perhaps heavy duty zip ties over of the quick fists? That may help dissuade a casual a**hole from walking away with the shovel.

I'd be more concerned about the Maxtraxx.. have a lock for those?

 

Why not a simple bike lock through the handle and the tie down?

I'd like to put up top on the roof racks, but i just don't see how i can secure them nicely. lol.

 

Try use bike anti theft cable...wind the extra around the handle...should deter the "walk away syndrome"...

 

I have a 12 foot cable that I thread through 2 D-rings in the bed then through the Hi-Lift and Maxtrax.

 

you're monopolizing your entire bed rail to hold a shovel? Might wanna look into building or purchasing a rack that hangs below. As to your question these would work.

The distance from the shovel handle to the D ring might be short enough for you to use a cable lock for a gun

 

There are a few purpose built locking holders, but they would replace the quick fist mounts.

I have these for my shovel and they're badass. Overkill, but at least a would-be criminal can't cut through my rubber mount.

Just hang an N95 mask on the shovel and you should be all set

 

Here’s how I mounted and lock my Maxtrax. I’d rather the damn fools just take my shovel than screw up my truck trying to get it unlocked though.

4 small paddle locks will still only slow down a determined criminal. A .45ACP round to the head will stop even the most determined criminal.

 

Not sure a shovel is worth a murder and a prison sentence.

 

Ain’t murder when the perp attacks you with the shovel he just stole! It’s self defense all day long.

That is what I used for my shovel/axe and high lift.
