Wow all this talk of hate. Do you even know what hate is? Hate is throwing acid in a young girls face because she learned to read. Hate is putting a fellow human in a cage dousing him with gasoline and burning him alive because he aligns with a different religion. Hate is killing women and children for ethnic cleansing. This place is like a bickering room.

That being said it looks like it does what’s advertised. If you don’t like it don’t buy it. If you like it buy and use it.

I come on here to learn and help and get away from all the bitching in the world. Yet it seems we can’t even learn and educate in here without more useless bitching about nothing that in the end even means a damn.

I really want to get @christian06 ’s tailgate lock and support a TWer, but the stories about stuck or striped bolts makes me hesitate. I don’t have much experience dealing with that kind of stuff and I don’t want to mess up something in my brand new truck.

I looked at the sabellco lock but, if I remember correctly, it was around $150. There is also the pop and lock tailgate defender, but no idea how effective it is. Christian really does have the best option and it’s priced very reasonably.

    1. People forget to lock it
    2. Not everyone has remote locking tailgate
    3. That’s the point.

Insane price of $35 bucks???? I wonder the same thing, this isn't 1923, this 2023.
I spent more than that just for McDonald's breakfast for son and wife, and I only gets a cup of coffee for myself.
    SaBellco lock is $110 bucks.

Haha move to VT not really an issue here!
Just TW makes you obsessed about preventing anything happening to your TACOS.
I lock my gate and my cap hopefully it’s enough here.
Can’t open gate without opening cap?

OK, some comments was a little rude.
I didn't say "you must be cheap not spending $35"????
to me it does NOT make sense to spend $50K on truck but $35 buck is too expensive to protect the tailgate.
When someone steal your tailgate it cost $2000 to $3000 to replace.

I feel like this is getting out of hand, it's very simple, the price comes down to if you want it or not, for example. You will spend $5 on a Starbucks coffee, there are approximately 8 of those in a gallon, so your spending $40 dollars a gallon on coffee, but you want it.
If you don't want someones product then simply don't buy it, no need to piss and moan about price points, or weather it's worth it, simply don't buy it.

I did not want to mess up my clean bolt! lol

    Here it is...intact!

    The SaBellCo wasn't extremely expensive: $109.95 + $8.00 shipping...$117.95 total.

Yes, but this is not always the case. Someone may be working and using the bed to load/ unload product and may most likely forget to lock the tailgate since the last thing on their mind is having the tailgate stolen. It is probably not a common thing in many places, but in others like California, it is very common to see 2nd and 3rd gen Tacoma's without tailgates. for $30-50, its a small price to pay for peace of mind. But yeah, its not for everyone.
