Put mine in the other day. Had a bad experience with an Awesafe in my 05 Accord due to it cold booting everytime I started the car and also it not running the rear defroster effectively but this one seems OK (it isn't involved in the HVAC system). It's about what I exoected from a cheap Chinese unit without a lot of memory or processor power. I did notice there was a connector on the radio end that matched to two plugs on the factory truck harness in the dash so either could fit in the connector. One was black and one was white. IIRC the white one was what you use.

Tried taking a good photo. The radio comes with 2 main harnesses. You only use one that matches all your plugs from the factory radio. Be sure to plug in the orange box that comes with the new unit into whichever harness you use. For the backup camera, the main harness has a single yellow connector labaled as “back video in”. This connects to one of the small additional harnesses with a single yellow connector. The other plugs you should see in the photo. One of which goes to the truck and the other comes from the main harness. I hope this makes sense and best of luck with your install!

Probably my biggest complaint is the volume controls work but the other two buttons on the steering wheel do nothing and it won't let me program them at all. I've reached out to Awesafe about it and they claim it's a bad CANBUS module and that they're shipping me a new one. I'm skeptical because I'd think if it was the module it wouldn't work for one but not the other. The other issue is it doesn't automatically switch Waze from day to night mode when it's dark out but the Xtrons Android head unit in my daily driver does so I'm forced to either leave it in dark mode on both vehicles or switch back and forth when I switch cars. I guess we'll see what happens when the new CANBUS module shows up. We're leaving for a 10 hour drive to WV in 5 days and it'd be nice to have the steering wheel buttons working 100%.

I agree, my skip buttons do not work either and i’ve tried “learning” them multiple time. I thought I had just gotten a bad egg like you. Let me know if the new CANBUS module works, if so, i’ll reach out and do the same thing. My other biggest complaint is the back-up camera seems to be super laggy sometimes.

Yeah, in my 05 Accord I had to "teach" the head unit which button did what. You could assign the buttons however you wanted so you could make volume up skip to next track and volume down do volume up if you wanted. This one I go through a similar screen but nothing changes.

from what I noticed there's a setting in the actual head unit that you have to turn to learning then go and relearn the controls. In default that switch stays in a mode that won't learn or update anything. Let me know if that helps I can take some more pics of where the settings is when I get back to the car if you'd like

I tried that with mine and had no luck. Awesafe sent me another CANBUS adapter that they said would fix it but at that point I was fed up with getting blinded when it was dark out because it doesn't automatically switch Android Auto between day and night mode so I had already pulled it out. Of course by then it was too late to return it. When I get a minute I've got to take pics and make a FS thread, I went back to the stock HU and added a Motorola wireless AA dongle to it until I figure out something better.

Damn sorry I wasn't able to help. I want to add another camera but I'm not sure if I'm able to do it with this head unit so I might be in the same boat. So far it's been good just some issues with connecting a different Bluetooth device and delay in auction but it does the job for me atleast. It's nice having wireless CarPlay but if I can't add another camera might have to upgrade to something better I've been looking into this one https://aucarauto.com/product/aucar-tesla-android-13-13-8-car-radio-for-toyota-tacoma-2016-2023/
