Broke down and installed some AVS tape-on Vent Visors today. I'm sure I'm in the minority (by not purchasing in-channel). I recently secured portions of the top of my rear window seals with adhesive because one would bow out from the door frame when the window was rolled up. The 'adhesive job' I performed has worked well, but left a 'rippled' effect on portions of the seal. I took the truck to Toyota, and they confirmed the bowing was acceptable because 2 brand new trucks did the same thing.

Anyway, pics of my final product are attached...

No offense, but, I only like the look of the in channel.I wanted to get a set, but, my girlfriend has had them before, and it just seems like sooner or later the tape wears off and they start falling off.BTW, aren't they all tape on?

No offense taken, at all...lol. I had some 'originals' on an F-150 for 13 years...no issues. That said, I do think the in-channels are a little more aesthetically appealing. However, these do a good job covering up my adhesive work. :D

In all actuality, I like the look of no vent visors the best.

i installed the same ones when i bought my truck back in 08. cant remember if they came with adhesive or not but i just used some 3M moulding 2way tape. havent had an issue with them falling off yet.

not sure if i have mine installed wrong but do you notice water runs inside the truck if you have either front window down a couple inches when its raining?

It's possible you installed them wrong, but maybe you're just a victim of vortex or pressure differential effect...where the rain drops get 'pushed' around the lip of the visor and into your cab. I never had that issue with my F-150, but I haven't driven the Taco in rain with the visors yet.

BTW, I believe I used 3M tape with my old set. These new ones already have the adhesive installed.

They look great! 99.9999999% of people couldn't tell the difference between in channel and non in-channel.

I prefer in-channel, but had tape on with my Chevy truck prior and had no issues. The in channels do use a little advesive as well, but the way they wedge in prevents them from coming out..the tape is just another line of defense.

Never had the rain come in on mine, try just cracking the window a little less.
