I do a lot of OR in my ‘22 limited and the windshield is cracked.

I got quoted $625 for a replacement. Seems high but idk.

they say it’s OEM but I called the dealer and the OEM windshield is just under $600

I don’t mind going AM, as I’ll likely chop it again within the next year.

Anyone got experience with this? Is $625 a fair price? Thanks all

    EDIT: Not covered by insurance

That sounds like a bargain. Are they recalibrating the TSS for that price because that might be required. Just for comparison, my wife's '20 Forester was $2300 for windshield and calibration at the dealer. Windshields have gotten mighty expensive on all newer vehicles.

Not everyone carries windshield coverage though. It is well worth it, in my opinion. Even here in MI with the highest insurance rates in the country.

In Ma you don’t have a choice. It’s included.

But yes, I agree, I would pay extra to have it if it wasn’t included. $2300 for a windshield is crazy. I’d sell..

I used to think it was always included here. Then I found out recently that even my parents don't carry it. Then again, I'm not sure if they elect to have full coverage like I carry or not.

Dunno what state you're in or your insurance, but I'd check to see if it was covered already.

Florida is included and pretty sure several other states are too.

And your policy *may* have glass coverage as part of comp or a rider. Worth a look or call to your agent to ask.

That's how much the dealer charged. It's not what we paid. It was covered by insurance but here in California there is no specific windshield coverage allowed so it's covered under your comprehensive policy and whatever deductible you have. The real point is that windshield in general are far more expensive than they used to be, in part because they're not just windshields anymore.

    4 run, 2 don't
    $0 to $100

    Use insurance

It's mentioned in each of the windshield threads that pop up once a week

Should’ve mentioned my insurance does not cover windshield.

I paid $225 cash at a local glass shop and it included the GoPro mount. Has held up better than oem

Yep me too. $285, came to my house and changed it in an hour with an aftermarket glass with the Gopro mount (which I never use). Looks great.

Forget OEM, it cracked like a delicate wine glass. IMO
