Anyone had a flush and fill done recently. I need to get one done and was wondering what a fair price would be.

I paid $ 300 at the dealer, only maintenance I paid to have completed on truck.

250-300 for drain and fill, no flush from a few local dealers.

My dealer won’t do a flush on anything with over 70k miles on it.
They charge a little over $200 for a drain and fill.

If you measure what comes out when you drain the trans pan. Then put that same amount back in, You’ll save a lot of money:thumbsup:

Save your money and do it yourself. Quite a few step by step tutorials on this forum. May as well replace your trans filter, gasket and clean magnets while you’re at it.

Dealer told a buddy not to do one on his 4Runner until 100k
Weird because I thought they’re due every 40k

on any other car I’ve done an auto trans service the parts kit is usually around $100 minimum
Pan gasket, filter, crush washers, lots of fluid bottles, etc

have always heard every 40k is best and some manufacturers even do that under warranty as part of their maintenance package if the customer buys it (fluid)

200 for drain and fill. This included dropping the pan, cleaning everything and a new filter. I went to a transmission shop.

My dealer didn't want to flush at 70k either.

    Just getting started.
Ford flushed the transmission in my wife's Mustang at 75K and killed it; I don't think I'll be doing that with my Taco with a dealer service. You'd be better off taking it to a dedicated transmission shop for that work when the truck is over 50-70K miles.

My dealer said the same thing. He said the small chance the flush messes something up is not worth the risk to them.

Don’t flush, just drain and fill.

Do multiple drain and fills over a period of time. I did about 5 or 6 drain and fills between two oil change intervals, the last fill I added half a litre extra oil and did the fluid level check. Now I'm confident all is good , I may start doing drain and fills at oil change intervals. Is this the best way to do it ,who knows ,works for me. I also have been told to never do a flush.

    Where in Mass?

Ira in Danvers wouldn’t do a flush and wanted $200+ for a drain and fill…

I’ll probably end up just doing the multiple drain and fill route myself this summer, but curious where you got yours done.

Thanks for all the replies. The truck has 155K miles on it and I think the trans was flushed just before I bought it with 95K on the clock.
I’m starting to experience a good deal of searching and some shuddering when it downshifts ,especially between 45/50mph.

I’m hoping it’s just a fluid/ filter issue so that’s what I’m looking into first. Hopefully they will be able to run diagnostics on it and find out more about what’s going on. I’ll also mention that there are no warning lights on just the quirky shifts.

BTW. I had one shop quote $560. That’s why I asked. Thought I might have been missing something lol

The 5or6 drain and fills were done when the truck had 110000 KM on it and I wanted as much clean oil in it without doing a flush, now I'm confident a drain and fill every 8000 KM is peanuts compared to what a transmission costs. Excessive, maybe but oil is cheep.

Had a drain and fill done at 100k and it was about 300. I remember the tech telling me that it has to be done in steps its not just spash and fill. It runs smoother if that helps
