I recently installed a blue sea fuse box. I have noticed for some of my lights hooked up that have a built in fuse seem to have issues with the blue sea. For instance I have lights that turn on when the hood opens and it has a built in fuse protector. If I leave the fuse out of the blue sea where the lights positive is at then it doesn't work. If i do it vice versa and put a fuse in the blue sea and take out the built in protector it also doesn't work. I can only make it work when there are fuses in both spots. Anyone ever experience this or know what causes it? Would two fuses in a circuit cause major problems if something went wrong?

There is no issue here based on the way you're describing things. All the things are working correctly. If you remove either fuse its the equivalent of blowing a fuse and breaking the electrical connection. You would need both fuses for the lights to work unless you decide to cut the in line fuse out of the equation and wire your lights directly to your blue sea panel, which is what I would personally do. For me, the whole point of the blue sea panel is that it eliminates the need for the in line fuses and helps clean up wiring.

You're not hurting anything by having two fuses on the circuit. If anything, having both fuses means that you have two break points that would disconnect power to the circuit in the event of a short. That said, the in line fuse is unnecessary with the blue sea panel which is why I'd just cut it out of the equation.

Sounds like you might not be an electrical guru and are new to forum. I'd encourage you to ask questions here as you look to wire things into the blue sea panel.

I see, that makes sense to cut out the fuse. And yes very new to wiring things, thank you.
