I have bought a few things over the past year from Autoanything.com. The one sad thing I have noticed is that they send you constant deals and coupon codes to use, like their latest of 15% off orders of $199 or more. Seems like a great deal? Wait until you actually try to USE it on anything worth more than a few dollars. Here is the "restriction list" that was in very small print at the BOTTOM of the email I received.
Seriously? I mean heck, you may as well say it is a worthless coupon code! I had initially put a hilift jack, base, handle holder, and an ARB snorkle kit, and when I went to redeem the coupon, only the handleholder that costs about $15 was given a 15% discount! Everything else was denied. When I asked for live help the guy, named Bruce, (who was actually very helpful) was only able to offer me a 5% discount on the ARB snorkel since there was a code for 5% off on the item available. Nothing else he could do. Now I don't blame Bruce. He is just doing his job, but I did empty my shopping cart, and have submitted a request to get my email removed from their list. I mean if you are going to offer us discounts, let us know in easy to see print that there is a huge number of "manufacturer's restrictions" I mean that list is HUGE. Some Father's Day deal they are offering. I just thought you all should know this.

Yep I get those too and have noticed how restrictive the list is. I'm sure some that stuff is restricted by the manufacturers pricing, but it is a lot of stuff they restrict.

They are just like a lot of other companies out there. They suck you in with some kind of deal or discount, in hopes you will go ahead and buy whatever it is even if you don't get a deal. Because, you have already took the time to order your stuff or stopped in to a local store to buy it. Remember, there is very little to nothing that is free or a good deal. Companies use these tactics to draw you in, and most of the time the deal is not that good.

Thank you, for sharing this info with all of us.

Oh I know it is a marketing scheme. Just bringing it to light here before someone on TW doesn't see the details and spends more than they expected. I shop on a lot of sites, and most of them do not have NEAR this many restrictions. I buy on Egghead and Tiger Direct for example, and the coupons and discounts they send me from there are typically site-wide.

I purchased a BAKFlip bed cover through AutoAnything along with a few other items in 2012. I still got the 15% discount with free shipping!

I was really surprised, i am guessing it was because i had 2 other non restricted items at the same time so everything was coupled together.

of the 5 items I had in the shopping cart, 4 of them were "restricted". The one that wasn't restricted? a $15 part.

Yeah that happened to me as well when I bought my bed cover through them and now I hate getting those emails.
