Soooo....People tell me the TRD OR 6M Access cab has auto LSD. But 2022 brochure says otherwise.

I hope the brochure is wrong. Does anyone know for sure?

    This is Toyota Canada FYI
    Thx

Simple, push the traction control button, if it turns "on" you have it.

Honestly its nothing special, I'd rather not have it. It's simulated LSD, not a real LSD.

You also have a locker, which is 10000x better.

You would rather not have it? What?

It works pretty good if you ask me.

I'm still waiting for the truck. I should have mentioned that in the post.

you and i think alike, i have posted a few questions if i can install a 'Real LSD" in my 2WD.
and i have slammed the auto BS LSD in my posts and said exactly what you said " It's simulated LSD"
just the other day i had to go staright up a dirt incline and used it and the right wheel spun out, CRAP.

Bunch of stuff bolted on, some cool, some not
This. If you have a 2WD, it would make a big difference but since you're getting an OR, there's really little point. I would just use the rear diff locker, which will get you our of more places than Auto-LSD anyway. I'm not sure I have ever even pushed the button in my truck, if the wheels are slipping, I go straight to the diff lock. I do support being angry at the sales people that lied to you though...

I didn't look at the link @daks just posted but I was figuring maybe the difference they're talking about is the crawl control feature or ATRAC, don't think that's a option on autos.
    Edit meant manual :notsure:

Auto LSD is better than nothing but not as good as a locker. Auto LSD has gotten me out of a jamb several times when one tire lost traction, push the button and both tires turned in unison.

The LSD comes in handy when you’re driving on an icy highway in 4wd.

Auto LSD is much more useful than rear locker for those who drive in snowy conditions actually, day to day use. For off-roading yes, the locker is superior.

Auto-LSD only works in 2wd mode.

TRAC is what is on in 4wdH mode, and it simulates front and rear LSD, but if you give a short press to the button it is open differentials over 30mph. Long press fully open diffs.

You have to push a button to activate your auto LSD?

actually, it works amazingly well when i've used it. like almost no slip at all where i'd be spinning the tires in 2wd.

Yeah I’m not sure why so many folks talk smack about E LSD, it works great when I go on trails.

i thought it wouldn't do much since people will basically tell you it's nothing more than a gimmick but it definitely exceeded my expectations.

There is no disadvantage to buying the 6MT. You get 4.30 gears and the 8.75" rear diff. Yes, you get Auto LSD, which is nothing more than an amped up traction control system not a true LSD, but you also get the rear locker with the Off-Road package. And the best part is it a manual transmission, so no need to post about how horrible the auto shifts and feels underpowered.

I have had my 6MT for 4 years and still drive it like a boy racer! I love it and the transmission is a huge part of that for me. Welcome to the club!!
