I wanted to add that, after making some equalizer adjustments, for my thumb drive music, on my A6 PF, along with the Kicker 6 x 9's and Kicker/Subaru tweeters, my stereo has the best sound of any combination that I have ever owned (and I am in my 60's). My daily driver has a factory Sony premium system with a sub and this Atoto, with no sub, sounds way better. I have owned cars with factory amped Bose systems that were not as good. The funny thing is that I barely ever heard my rear access cab door speakers with the stock unit. Now they sound damn near as crystal clear as the Kickers I added in the front doors. I don't believe I can go over 50% on the volume without some added hearing loss. I am totally blown away by this Atoto. For a total installed price of $256, including the camera, this is just one awesome head unit. Still debating on adding the obd bluetooth for the torque app. That seems like another great addition for only $25. My first move will be to buy more music for my thumb drive. I was concerned not having a cd player but now I know I don't need one.

CS693 are the 6 x 9's and the tweeters are the Subaru/Kickers bought from my local Subaru dealer. I had the same in my 3rd gen. Find the best price online for the Subarus and then most of the dealers will price match. There are youtube videos showing how to modify the tweeter connectors for the 2nd gens. Very easy to do. Worth every penny. Picture is of our 2012 but same done in our 2008.20210721_163112.jpg

Does it have the XM radio port on the back?

This model does not. This is the base model. I cannot answer for the more expensive models. I have XM in one of my other cars so I stream Sirius through my phone which is the hotspot for the wifi when driving. Works fine for me. Same for Pandora, Waze and YouTube music. If I am pulling wifi from the house then I get everything through my house router.

Just ordered mine. Sadly, prob need some resistors or a dozen of them from amz. Nice write up. Hoping to get it done over a couple days while in the woods.

How did you get the area around the radio to fit the Atoto after moving it up from the lower position?
I have an Atoto 8 mocked up at the moment and the screen is kind of low and not the best angle to see easily. I can see it, but up higher like what you've done would be better.
The heater controls seem tight in your photo, can or have you done anything else since you posted the photo?

Depending on your year, you might not. I have 2012 Taco and it didn't need any resistors with ATOTO S8 Standard.

No resistors needed in my 2008 with the A6 PF model.

Question, the post had referenced rear view mirror backup camera. Is the wiring different to just have it show on the screen?
Getting ready to install this on my 2014 next few days and trying to hookup the stock camera to unit is my only real concern

Rear mirror camera is 6 volt. Head unit is 12 volt for camera. You would need some type of adapter cable to connect it. Search the aftermarket head unit threads for info. My 2008 had no mirror camera to deal with. Just added a new 12 volt camera to the head unit.

I just ordered an Atoto f7 SE to replace the radio in my 2011 Tacoma access cab. The main reason was to have the backup camera, as I am getting older and turning around to look out isn’t as easy as it once was, and the camera in the mirror is too small. I rarely use the steering wheel controls, so when the guy at Crutchfield told me that harness for the steering wheel control alone would be $97 by itself, (for their Boss head unit) I really decided I didn’t need that. Won’t be using additional speakers, or GPS

    So I got

ATOTO F7 Double-DIN Car Stereo with camera

    SCOSCHE TA2053B dash kit

Metra 70-1761 Radio Wiring Harness For Toyota 87-Up Power 4 Speaker

I was going to install the above and forget about the steering wheel controls, but I see from your original post that you listed the

    Metra 70-8114 -

which now lists on Amazon for only $7.99

Am I correct on that, and have I left anything else out, (or have any redundancies)?
(or maybe forget about the steering wheel controls cuz it’s too much hassle?)

    Thanks for any input

Hoping to start my install soon. Any special instructions to ensure the backup cam turns on by hitting the button and my putting it in reverse? thx.

    Atoto 6, down below
Back up camera installed at the 2nd license plate light. Removed the light on the right side and dremeled out to fit the camera little by little and glued in place.

I wondered the same thing. The RED wire for the camera needs power. I tied into it at the accessory RED in the adaptor harness and then taped into the back up light wire at the rear tail light. I didn't want to open the truck wires going to the back up light. So, on the back side of the tail light you will easily see the wire for the back up bulb. That's where the signal to the radio comes from to activate the screen to turn the camera on. Works pretty good once you figure out the line configurations shown on the screen.

Got mine installed a few days ago. Works great. Two questions
    1) For 2-4 seconds after putting it into reverse the first time after starting, it shows "No Video Input" , then the rear view picture comes on, Is this normal/common?
    2) Has anyone tried the SWC without any module or adapter as seen in the youtube video

I am not sure, would need to troubleshoot with you
I measured voltage output when each button was pressed to ensure there was a significant difference in voltage.

I think i was seeing something like 3 and 4 volts for each button

My instructions in the post basically just describe what is shown in that video.

adding two resistors to make the voltage drop differ between the buttons, the atoto reads the voltage when each buttons is pressed - then you follow atoto instructions for how to program steering wheel controls

Not sure if it applies to certain years, my truck was a 2011, sounds like the 2008 trucks didn't have any issues/didn't need to add resistors
