Assistance with Add a Leaf install

Hey guys. In the process of installing the add-a-leaf springs from Low Range and I'm second guessing myself on how these are installed. No directions included.
Is the position I have it in correct below?? The pin is not bolted down at this point.

In for this, I also need to add a leaf to my Dakar’s

 

Hey man from my knowledge you'll have to take the small overload spring off and put the add a leaf facing the same way as all the other leafs then put the small overload spring on the bottom hope this helps

 

Okay, that's the way I have it in the pictures.

 

from what it looks like is you have the new leaf at the bottom of the stack upside down, you would have to take the smallest factory leaf (overload leaf) off and put the new add a leaf facing the right way up and then put the overload leaf back on

Just switched it.
The bottom leaf with the yellow +++ is the overload spring.
So is this correct?

 

It has been many years since I have installed an add a leaf (early 90s), but your first pictures appear correct to me.

 

My Dakar AAL went into the Dakar pack as the 3rd leaf from the top

 

Although, that Low Range AAL looks to be a lot shorter than I remember my Dakar AAL being, so maybe that's why it's installed differently, dunno for sure.

Incorrect direction.
The AAL should go under all normal leaf springs, in the same direction.l, with the overload at the bottom, arched away. Your pic in the first pic looks correct.

Will do. From what I’ve read it should be tightened to 40 foot pounds.

 

I've never seen an AAL that arches the same direction as the overload, although I suppose it's possible some company might claim it's better that way.
