Wait till you come over to the 2nd Gen forum. We have clowns folks trying to get Toyota to cover the neglected paint on their 15 year old trucks.

I agree they can’t cover stuff like that. Something got on the paint and went through the clear coat. If they were to cover stuff like that it would open pandora s box. From what I see it looks like brake fluid . If someone on the rode had a brake line they popped it could have easily got on the hood. And brake fluid is basically clear so at first you wouldn’t notice it but as it sits it will soften the clear coat and paint and this will happen. If it’s wiped fairly quick it doesn’t hurt anything

Is the truck driven on the road? All kinds of vehicles out there that could leak any kind of aitomotive fluid at any time. Trucks especially, lots of fluids on the road that could get flung up by a passing vehicle. Ever been behind a dump truck carrying hot asphalt? a tow truck loaded with a freshly wrecked vehicle? Drive under an overpass? You can't always see what's crossing over while you're driving underneath.

Not saying this is bird poo, but it most definitely damages paint if left too long. Had this happen on toyota and Mercedes’ vehicles I have owned. I also thought I was bs but it is terrible for paint

Bird poop is actually a government tracking device. Birds aren't real...
