Let us know what the other dealer(s) say in terms of a wait time. I remember they quoted me 4 months and then it took 6 months and ARE customer service was horrible.

I would call periodically to try to get a new estimated delivery date (I also had a trip coming up) and the lady at ARE would always be rude and say she couldn’t possibly give me an estimated delivery date.

Still a great product and worth the wait though. I think they just have one woman that answers the phone there and I tried not to let one person ruin a whole company for me. The cap itself has been fantastic.

Will do. I just put in for quotes and lead time estimates from two other dealers.

I did this about a year and half ago with 4 different dealers in the region and more or less got the same price and time estimate, but we'll see what happens this time.

That’s smart, I would say expect to be disappointed with the delivery time but it’s still worth it in the end.

I just got my ARE CX Evolve put on yesterday and it was ordered on 1/7/23. I went with this model because of the locking latch that uses the truck key fob.

Looks good. Looks like ARE is going fast this time.

@Road_Warrior , did one of the options backordered? It might be the reason it took so long.

Keep it in mind, all caps price goes up every year or two... who knows. its going to be very expensive. So don't wait til the right time unless you have extra money at the time you order.

My dad got his for 700 dollars.. 8ft cap for his dodge truck. He asked me how much mine was... I told him, 3k. He was like "Wow. Too much. I got mine for 700." I told him, "you got it used... mine is new."

At least this go around, the price quote I got last week was basically same as the one I got a year and half ago (this time ~$20 more). This was one of the reasons I was eager to finally get my order in. That, and the extended camping trips I'm going on in May and June.

They told me it was an issue with their supply chain and they said it was just going to get worse. I guess they were wrong if people are getting them 3 weeks after they order haha.

In short, I'm not sure. I haven't priced out the V series, so if there is someone that has, they should chime in.

That being said, I've spent way too much of my life searching for and pricing out shells. I can say based on the other A.R.E.s shells (and LEER too) that I've had priced by dealers while looking at used ones at the same time, the used ones are rarely listed for $300 to $500 less than the owner paid for it. That's even if the shell is in less than pristine condition (scratches, torn screens, stuck lock, missing keys, etc.).

I really like my CX. Dealer matters more than brand and price varies. I drove 3hrs each way to get mine and saved about a grand with fully optioned MGM CX for long bed (carpet, lights, fold down front window, roof tracks, vented windoors -sportsman windoors). Install takes awhile if they do it right and silicone under bed rails, use the gap fillers up front etc. I think I paid $2600 in early 2020 and the same options locally would have been $3600 (Chicagoland). It did cause some sag, used blue sumo springs 612-40s until I did my suspension and added stage 2 Deaver expos.

This may be a stupid question but will it cause sag if I already have the TRD lift kit? I watched a video of some guys putting it off and on and said it was around 150 pounds. Again may be a question that you are laughing at but I do not have a clue . Lol! I appreciate all your help and comments.
