ARE tonneau cover lift support question

Hey folks I needed some info on the support rods that raise and support the fiberglass top.
on mine the raised point is maybe 16 to 18" above the rear most portion of the tailgate.
Can these supports be adjusted to change this distance so it can open wider ?
Mine is the LSII series. on 2012 tacoma prerunner sr5 DCSB ...

Go to the Boxi or Strong Arm lift sites or auto store sites and they list all the sizes/lengths compressed and extended and pressures.
On my ARE shell DCSB I used (2) BOXI 4419 Universal Lift Supports Struts Extended Length: 14.50 Inches, Compressed Length: 9.25 Inches, Force: 35 Lbs. 10mm ball socket Shocks from Walmart online for a pair $16.99. They open up to like 70-80 degrees (90 is up vertical) and have lots of lift so once you pull it up about 6" it will quickly swing up.
Measure for extended/compressed length from the lift ball sockets.

tonneau covers to see if I can get an original manual or parts list. Nothing so far.
