Looking for some mew struts for the back door of my ARE shell. Are these things universal or do I need something specific for my camper shell?

The length, the end fittings and the strength (force) of the spring are all variable, but most auto parts stores (Autozone, O’Reilly’s, you don’t need to go to a specialty shop) have a huge selection and you should be able to find what you need.

I used the above website and looked at the tag# on the shocks that were on my rear window to track down the part number I needed. I then found the same shocks on Amazon for half price. The website I posted is mainly to just help you find the part number and the collapsed/extended lengths & lbs rating of the ones you need(ie they arent all universal fit, but most are similar). Let me know if you have any q's

There should be a part number on them, there was on my ARE. I just put that in Amazon and it pulled them right up. Only takes a couple of minutes to swap.

I got mine from Amazon. Easy to match from info on shock.

The lift struts were junk on my Century cap. I took one off and into a local Carquest and they had them in stock.

A little less than $40 for both.
