I have an unused NIB 4 Channel 75w per channel Pyramid amp I bought years ago for a project that was still born. Given the anemic output of the factory HU, I'd like to add an amp. Would this Pyramid amp do or would I be better off buying a kicker or some other brand. When I think of Pyramid, I think of Flea Market junk.

Pretty much answered your own question. They aren't the cleanest amps by far.

depends how old it is, Pyramid was a name brand and sought after at one time, as was Jensen, Advent, and several other brand that have been bought out for the name and cheapened.

you have it, try it, see if it suits your needs, you aren't driving an acoustically perfect room, so high end sound isn't something that needs to be sought after.

Cheap equipment can actually sound decent if you size everything properly, most "systems" are hodgepodged together trying to get the sound, but are gutted by taking shortcuts in the peripheral components, connections and power supplies.

Is it possible to buy or make a harness so that I don't have to cut and splice? If so I'll give it a try knowing I can easily replace it if it doesn't suit me. I know Crutchfield provides harnesses with their stuff but don't know if they, or anybody else sells them separately.

OK, dug it out of the closet, got the model # and hit Google. Reviews all say it's a piece of shit and to stay away. Good enough for me. I'll buy one from Crutchfield. Any recommendations mucho appreciated.

Ya Pyramid never made any audio gear worth installing...it has always been junk. I've been doing this since the 80s and they have stayed consistently at the bottom. Their power supplies are useful, but IMO overpriced given their reputation.

I'd be looking toward the NVX JAD amps for budget builds. Lots of lower priced good amps out there, but these are budget gems. Rockville amps seem to be solid for the low end as well.
