Are 95-97 and 98-00 grilles interchangeable?

Just wondering if anyone has ever swapped from the 98-00 grille to a 95-97 grille?

I know the corner and headlights would need to be changed out, but do both grille mounting points match up, or are there major differences that make it impossible?

While I do think the 98-00 grill is the best. I would love to have the 95-97 grill. Reminds me of my old 91’ Isuzu Amigo I had in high school.

Here’s with black headlights and the factory grill Bedlined black, factory chrome was almost completely peeled off.

I agree the 98-00 has a good look. I think I just like that the headlights are inset to the grille on the previous body style. Decided not to mess with mine and keep it as is

The bumper is made by Chassis Unlimited. They have several options for these trucks.

I personally like the look of the 95-97 the best. But there are more aftermarket options for the 98-00, so i could see why you might want to do the swap. Because i do like the aftermarket 98-00 grilles.

It funny because I would love to change the front of my 01 to look like a 95-97, hood and all

ye you can do it… not that hard either heres my 99.. few holes to drill and a bit of trimming and creativity to make the headlights work but it can be doneE0A66295-B89C-412A-BE34-78B0F2157362.jpg

I like the '80s look of the inset lights too. Most folks guess at Hillux.

It would be cool to swap a 95-97 grille on a 1st gen double cab

Just did this to my 98. Followed @Madjik_Man writeup. Personally I love the look of it better than what my 98 came with. More options for headlights as well.
