If price wasnt a factor, which would you choose and why?

Why are the key differences between the two brands and which generally does better in most scenarios?

Dometic let it be known last year that they were the manufacturer of the ARB fridge for many years (all the ones with the blue lids), and ARB recently went with a new supplier. From what I heard, the ARB was outdated technology, but was still good, efficient, well insulated, and blue. It just wasn't the latest and greatest and most efficient.

Since Dometic started the CFX series a few years back, they've already made upgrades to it and just did another new version of it, so that's the route I'd go if I were you. They had clearance pricing on the recent models too to sell thru the old stock.

What about that new stainless steel series that ARB makes?

My issue is, I've been reading a lot of bad reviews from both companies recently

Price isnt a factor here. I just want to make sure I get one that is a fridge/freezer combo. And will work without issue for years on solar or battery

I haven't had personal experience with the new stainless model. Main complaint I heard on them was some lid problems early on (it wouldn't stay up like it was supposed to), but maybe they fixed that.

I prefer the side-opening lid anyway on such a large fridge.

Both have a good warranty and I know Dometic is a much larger company overall. They own the RV refrigeration market, so they probably even work with RV stores for return or exchange.

I don't think the ARB is a dual zone. It's a single compartment last I checked.

Can you PM me the links to the reviews you've been finding for Dometic? I want to get those in front of the team so we can learn from them and also see what we can do to improve our products, customer service experience, etc.

    Thanks

I have both. ARB is about 5 years old and Dometic is about 4 (different sizes). I have had the dometic in my truck running off solar the entire time 24/7. The ARB is used only on long camping trips. Personally I’d go with who ever gives the best deal. It’s kinda like YETI vs RTIC.

I have a Dometic CFX-65DZ. It works great and is super efficient. My model has the fridge and freezer all in one and with that comes popsicles on the trail! My wife laughed at that idea until those delicious frozen treats came out of the freezer. Now who's the genius?

The wife and I got the CFX75DZW and love it. We wanted the separate fridge/freezer, not just a compartment that was a bit colder than the other. With this, we have the flexibility of either compartment being fridge or freezer, or both, or even using one as fridge and one as dry storage (which we do often for shorter trips where we don't need the entire 75 liters).
