I had looked for a way to do this for a while, and couldn't find anything so I had some 3/8" plate cut and got a receiver hitch tube and hot glued it together. Turned out pretty slick. The pin can be accessed from the large hole on the top of the bumper if your hands aren't much bigger than mine. Alternate openings for pin access would probably involve modifying the lower skid plate on the bumper KIMG0895.jpg KIMG0896.jpg KIMG0897.jpg KIMG0899.jpg KIMG0900.jpg KIMG0901.jpg

    Nice work !!

Now just how big are your hands that is the question?

Myself I would have left the pin on the outside for easy access.

Over the years I changed things people bought with hidden pins so hard to access by the female owners.

The slot in the bumper for the fairlead is too small to get the hitch receiver to come through, but just the right size to slide a stinger in. That was the direction I originally wanted to go. So your only options at that point are cut the bumper slot or have a hard to access pin. I went for the second option. I wear a size large / extra large glove so most people should be able to make that work.

With the women it was not so much the hand size but having the strength to pull the hair pin and remove the 5/8" pin with the limited access .

Used many times to push wagons into a shed after dragging them back from the field.

Needing to swap the receiver insert back to front many times as fast as things were unloaded.

In the end it really comes down to what works for you.

In this case it's not what works best for me, but what physically works in the bumper. For any one wanting to build one the hitch receiver is too large to fit through the slot.

Then doing it like that did work best for you.

Simple matter to make the slot bigger.
