So it's running kinda. I wouldn't say it's tuned but adj gas block is on and in fully open position. Cycled most of what I shot FGMM 175 smk was the only load to have a fail to feed and was just one. It doesn't like the Gorilla munitions nosler load at all that was the only one we could just never get to cycle. But it worked fine in my buddies Sig 7.62.

Ammo testing (groups) kinda rushed especially the federal loads but hornady 168gr amax and the S&B 168gr OTM seem to be the best 2 with surprisingly the s&b the only one coming back just a hair over 1 moa

its not a bad group but could you tell if it was you or the gun/ammo? When im shooting groups some trigger pulls feel more comfortable than others. I can usually tell right off the bat when i squeeze too tight or am fighting the gun to line up on my spot.

If you move the low flyer then it would be about 1/2 moa. Which is pretty normal for a non-custom gas gun.

You sure it wasn’t you pulling a shot on that S&B group?

I'm not that good of a shooter yet so catching shooter induced flyers is definitely within the realm of plausible. I think realistically this could a be a 1/2 to 3/4 capable upper with the right load and shooter. With me behind it i can probably keep it 3/4 to 1 moa with the right factory load.

Some things I'll tweak on the next round. Use a smaller dot target for a more precise consistent point of aim.

I haven't really dialed in the zero yet since testing so many loads. I did adjust right as that was the consistent point of impact shift across almost all loads

Then i wouldnt worry too much about the loads until you get more settled with the gun. Its still breaking in. look for where its ejecting the casings to see if you need to throttle back the gas. the less gas the smoother and more accurate it will shoot.

So I tallied up what I think I'll have in the AR10.

    Aero M5 Lower Kit($199)Aero M5 Upper($127)Aero Adjustable Gas Block($45)Elftmann AR10 Trigger($179)Magpul K2+ Grip($25)

    Still need:
    Aero Gas Tube
    Aero Rail
    Aero BCG
    Radian Charging Handle
    Ballistic Advantage Barrel

Not dead set on these last few:
    Magpul Bipod
    Magpul PRS Stock
    Swampfox or Vortex Optic(I figured $1500ish b/c I honestly haven't looked)
    Muzzle Brake

I used the normal prices for what's needed and ended up right at $3000. I think I will come in a good bit cheaper as I often buy things on sale

It shoots good enough for me, 1” groups @ 100 yards on factory ammo, shooting out of the truck bed. I guess you could add $100 to the total for the Nikon scope and mounts.

Those were (are) a deal even fully assembled they were 700-800 in hind sight might have been a better deal to buy and change out parts if doing a build. But i cant buy a fully assembled gun and be happy its just not who i am.

While I don’t doubt the RA trigger at all I’m going to stick with a Larue like you it’s just what I’m used to

I don't blame you at all. I put that RA trigger in one of mine and swapped it for an Elftmann shortly afterwards

Some additional load testing today. With some interesting results. The aero just doesn't like 147g or hasn't found the right load best group s&b 147gr 3 moa

150gr this seems to be a weight it likes better while not all 1 moa all the 150 groups where more consistent than the 147s. Best group Federal Powershock SP 150gr 1 MOA

    Premium match grade
So far the winner here is the S&B 168OTM at just under MOA additional testing to come in this category including trying some heavier 175/185 grain loads. Hornady Amax seems to edge out everything but the S&B in the 168 match grade category. Due to cost may hold this until the suppressor arrives and I've got 300-500 rounds through on the BCG/barrel . I think once I've got reliability resolved post break in and fine tune the gas system it will show some better results. Today was good no FTF issues bolt lock back on every last round with 14 different loads tested

Got my Tikka back from cerekote and was shooting 1/2 inch 5 shot groups with that so was a good trigger day.
