Planning on going out to explore trails in Anza. Anyone have suggestions on dispersed camping spots? Been to fish creek once which looks nice but was hoping someone could share a pin or general area somewhere north of the park?

Top of "The Slot" is a cool spot. My beddy and I also found a nice secluded spot in one of the canyons near by. In the circled area. Screenshot_20201013-123840_Maps.jpg

As far as camping goes, check out Blair Valley Campground. Admittedly not in the Northern part of the park but it is a quiet and primitive campsite, and a protected dark sky zone excellent for star gazing.

Anyone been out here since the stay at home? I see all the other campsites are closed.

Yep, just camped out there last weekend. We were at Fish creek though, not in a campground. Not crowded and beautiful at night.

Just curious....if you go down this big hill at the slots, how’s the ride out going the way you camped?

The worst part is right when you get down the hill into the canyon. Smooth sailing the rest of the way out.

Has anyone been to Blair Valley since the shutdown?
Any good BLM dispersed camping around Anza Borrego?

I've never been there, but Crucifixion Thorn was recommended. A few miles north of Mexico. It might be boring. We camped at McCain Valley several months ago - despite the no camping signs near the Sacotone Overlook. There may be better areas further north in the Valley.

Anyone who's been camping out there recently have any issues? Park website lists camping (developed and primitive) under "what is closed." The park does patrol via airplane so I figured they could easily chase any campers out if they wanted to. It's possible that's a low priority though.
