Anyway to show Waze/Google maps on Entune 2.0 without replacing headunit?

I’ve got a 2019 sport that I absolutely love except for one single issue. The OEM navigation is garbage. It has taken me into so many traffic jams and terrible routes. Unfortunately, my truck was a year too early for Carplay. My question is there any way to show Waze/Google Maps on the screen without having to change the headunit? I don’t really want to replace the it mainly because I don’t want to jeaprodize my warranty and I like the look of the OEM screen. I just can’t stand the nav.

Spendy and not a lot of literature/reviews available regarding long-term performance, but I've PM'd a couple of folks on this site who have mentioned it and they've said it works great. I was considering it for my wife's 2017 Highlander Entune 2.0. Not impressed with HU swap options/pricing to get similar size screen, options, and equipment extras needed to retain steering wheel controls. $550 seems about half the price of a Crutchfield upgrade + add-ons. In the end, the wife said she's fine with dash mounted phone for Waze/Carplay. Good luck.

I’ve seen Uber/lift drivers with tablets mounted to their dash. That might be an alternative.

More simply, you could get a mount for your phone.

That was my thoughts too... hence very happy the wife is good with the magnetic phone mount solution she's been living with for 3 to 4 years now. But, consider HU Swap... Crutchfield, a company I've been very pleased with, mid-range head unit = $300 to $400 (high end, way more), + $219 for the "recommended" installation gear (Bezel, SW controls, wiring harness, jumpers for add-ons), would run you the same and give you a smaller screen. Although I didn't buy it, the NAVIKS unit retains factory everything (microphone, Sirus XM if equipped, etc) and allows you to pipe in CarPlay and Android Auto (wired and bluetooth). Multiple ways to look at this, but if Carplay/Android Auto is your must-have, the NAVIKS might be reasonable for the cost without having to upgrade the entire system. As stated earlier, one of the main issues for me was not being able to read significant reviews on longevity and performance. Also, a 1-year warranty for a $550 system from what appears to be somewhat of a mom-and-pop shop company worries me... possible long-term tech support issue. Cheers.

Well it is expensive but a lot cheaper than trading my truck in for a 2020. Lolol That would give me exactly what I want. I might have to bite the bullet.

I purchased and installed the Naviks unit after my disappointment with Entune and iPhone connectivity for calls and voice texting. Best and most used upgrade by far. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to have upgraded to a Stinger 10” but could not justify the 3x cost over my Naviks unit.
I also love that I can retain the ability to change options like door locks, interior lights, etc with the stock HU.

I have a 3.0 HU that would work. He would get apple car play and android auto. Plus I have a plug and play wire from auto harness house

    I drive a Miata.
I do the poor man's carplay on long trips. I cue up my Bluetooth music list and have waze running in the background, so that I at least get the audio directions.

I also review the route before I go, and if the directions deviate, then I know something's up.

Hi guys, I know this is a 3rd gen forum, but I couldn't help the fact that you guys talked about the naviks unit. I drive a 2015 Limited. I'm not sure what version of entune it is. But it's the premium jbl system. My unit looks identical to what pauldotcom posted. Just with the jbl symbol on the bottom left and the right on the very bottom has the memory card slot for the SD card for nav. I was interested in trying the naviks just to keep my factory look. I was curious myself how well it works since it's a plug and play system.

Auto harness house makes the wire that’s basically plug and play. It works seamless and gives you apple car play and android auto. You need another JBL unit to work. Not a non JBL.
