Hello guys. Ive been wanting to make my rear OEM locker a anytime locker. I have a 3rd gen tacoma. Ive been hearing word of a tune out there. But im not sure what kind. Some say KDMax or OVTune but i dont see any products for purchase. Ive also heard somesay people figured it out on TW but all i see are people discussing of how they were still trying to figure it out of if there was a tune in the works. Does anyone know where to look for either a plug in product or if there is a local tuner guy in the SoCal area (I am willing to drive a few hours out). I live near Huntington Beach so if anyone knows of a guy in the area that can make a tune for the locker that would be great. Also if anyone has a tuner guys email or number so i can reach out to them and ask questions. Just another FYI, i plan on S/C the truck in a few months so im not sure if that will wipe the locker tune. Not really looking for a tune that will add HP, just a locker tune but i dont mind if it comes with more HP. But if anybody as any conections to a tuner guy please give me their contact info so i can ask them some questions, or even a place i can go to. Thanks guys

Not a tune necessarily but more of a wiring work around. Or tricking the truck into thinking it’s in 4lo when it’s not. There are a couple of companies making harnesses that you intercept stock wiring with and reroute a few things. Not completely sold on them due to warranty fears but they seem to work. I’ll have to look back for company name and get back.

I'd let the masses try this out first, but that's me, I don't have a burning need for it either.

I was looking at that product and the ones like it but what turned me off from that was the fact that you loose the locking light on the instrument cluster. I want to keep the rear locker light

I’ve got the Xperimental (or however it’s spelled). Works great. Although, the developer seems to have abandoned his own thread here on TW about it, so I am not sure what to make of that.

I didn’t like losing the oem light, but I like being able to use the locker whenever a lot more. I jammed the light in the glovebox so I don’t have tacky aftermarket LED’s crapping up my interior.

Last I recall reading, it *CAN* be done via a tune somehow, but none of the tuners will due to liability concerns (odd considering they’re comfortable modifying the engine and transmission controls, but, what do I know).

I got mine on the site someone linked earlier.. https://experimentalinc.com/products/anytime-locker

I think it’s best to forget about the tune based functionality. I don’t think they’re gonna do it if they haven’t already. Could change in the future but current state, the above is the only option.
