I recently ordered the “premium” version of the Anytime Front camera but when the kit arrived, I noticed the camera I received (left in photo) was different than the other cameras I’ve seen (right in photo). I’ve tried contacting the vendor I bought it from and also Anytime, but I haven’t received a response. Which one is the “premium” version? If they’re both “premium”, did I get an older model? I much prefer the look of the camera on the right. Thanks!

I have the camera on the right, and I just got the normal kit. I would assume that the camera on the left is the "premium" version, from what you're saying. I assume they only sell the two so you only have these two options.

When I bought my camera last year, it had the newer updated camera, which is the one on the right.

It just seems strange I received the one on the left. I had just ordered it from Tacoma Lifestyle. I sent them a message but still haven't received a response. I do like the look of the one on the right much better.

FYI for anyone else who reads this, Anytime got back to me and said that the camera on the left is the newest HD style camera.

I got the same camera as you did with my kit in November. I planned to mount the camera using a bracket (which mounted horizontally instead of vertically) so the picture needed to be inverted (top to bottom). The “new” camera (the one pictured on the left) doesn’t have that option. I found the Natika (The one you have pictured on the right) camera on Amazon (for $34 with 15% coupon). It also came with a new video harness. I hooked it up, inverted the image, and it worked great! It also looks better installed (in my opinion).

Thanks! This is helpful. I'll be mounting it on a TRD Pro Grille with a horizontal mount that I purchased from Taco Vinyl. I'm surprised the picture can't be inverted. I guess I'll have to get the camera pictured on the right from Amazon as well. By the way, did the camera you bought in November come with the three colored wires you can cut to change the picture? Mine has all three so I am wondering if mine will still work. I'll check it out.

He literally throws in whatever camera he has available at the time, I had to order a nakita off Amazon also. I remember emailing him twice and he never responded.

The guy at Anytime replied to me the next day saying that it was the "new" one. I was shocked I got a response. I also contacted Tacoma Lifestyle which is where I bought it from, and they said it was the updated camera. So, who knows. Seems super weird but I'll try to install it this weekend. Worst case scenario, I'll have to buy the other Natika one from Amazon which would be lame.

When I got the nakita and switched it in, I was blown away how much clearer the picture is.
Also make sure to store the extra camera wire inside the cab of the truck and NOT the engine bay or the line will get warm and the camera picture will start to black out on the screen.

Hey please help me understand. What’s the purpose of this camera? Replacing the OEM one for a camera with better clarity?

My truck did not come with a front camera so I was looking for an aftermarket camera to install.

Yes, the camera I got with the kit came with 3 colored wire loops. I thought one of them would flip/invert the image. None of them did this.
The Natika camera I got from Amazon also has 3 wire loops - cutting the one shown on their schematic did invert the image.

Interesting, I bought my kit from anytime backup camera, and I swear it said I should have gotten the "newer" style one but I got the one on the right... also I bought this bracket for my camera. Connects to the stock grill and makes it so you don't have to drill a hole in the grill.

Strange. But I really do like that mount. I have a TRD Pro Grille so I think I'm stuck with drilling.

So, does this "HD" camera display a better quality image. I realize the radio display resolution determines image quality also but interested to know if just the HD camera alone improves image quality.

Per the Anytime website, this camera is 720p. Not sure what the resolution of the other camera is. The new camera is 600 TVL, which is a resolution of 768 x 494. Everything seems a bit confusing.

Hey can you educate a newbie like me? I’m picking up a 2021 Trd pro long bed with technology package and premium package. It does not have a front camera. Is the front camera for parking in? Is it require any other hardware? Is there instructions for mounting this? I’m curious now and would be interested. Thanks very much.
