Hi everyone, been down the tonneau cover rabbit hole and back, trying to decide which cover to get for my 2020 SR. I've seen many reviews and opinions for 5ft beds but not many for 6ft. Looking at the hard covers, something easy to install, don't really care if it's 100% waterproof. Just want it to fit, latch and not have to constantly adjust it. I realize no cover is perfect and all have their quirks! Any 6ft bed owners with covers out there?

I've had the Bakflip MX4 on my long bed for couple years now. It's pricey but doing everything it claims so far. I'm happy with it.

Depends on what purpose you’re looking for. If you regularly haul then a hard cover may not work. Roll up covers don’t take up much space but have little room no security.

Yes, the cover will stay on the truck 95% of the time. I occasionally carry some lumber, shrubs, so it would be nice if I could have at least 75% bed access. Most of the time the truck is my daily drive and it just hauls me.

I've had my Bakflip MX4 on the truck since it was new in '17 and it's still doing everything I need it for. Minimal if any water intrusion.

Edit to add that it folds to 75% access easily and 95% access to haul soil or something larger but blocks the rear window.

I went with Truxedo TruXport Soft Roll Up Tonneau Cover for 2017 SR5 access cab 6'2" bed Tacoma. I find it for right around $400 shipped to me. Easy install, took me about an hour and a half, not rushing and listening to some good tunes just kinda pissing around on a unseasonably warm Saturday. I really like that it was no drill option, and the 95% bed access. I keep my tailgate locked, and with the two latch opening latches, it provides a bit of security but nothing out of the realm of a knife and someone really determined to get in. It's got alloy support/stiffeners about every foot and a half/two feet and is rather easy to roll up, or unroll. I'm happy with mine, but it's only been a couple months as well.

Also running a Bak Flip since 2016 - no issues what so ever. I wanted a flush mount to the bed lip so that sealed the deal.

For my usage, I'm very happy with the Toyota OEM trifold. Going on 4 years now no issues. 6 foot bed.

I was considering the OEM cover from Toyota. It looks good!

Another mx4 user with minimal complaints. It's super easy to fully flip up for 95% of usable bed length or take an extra 30 seconds and it can be fully removed. The flush fit is why I went this route. Relocated bed rails so you still have full use of them.

Another Bakflip MX4 user. Took about 30-45 minutes to install, though it would have been quicker had I watched a video first. No major complaints, and easily one of my favorite additions to the truck.

    MX4 as well on my 2021 SR5.
Looks good. Functions well. Minimal water seepage. Looks good.
A hair expensive but I like it.

Thanks everyone! I've heard good things about the backflip. Wondering how much tweaking you needed to do with the rail installs and supplied clamps? Is there alot of adjustment when first installed meaning do all panels latch down on both sides right off the bat?

I was curious as how the cover latches to the rail. Looks like there are 'pins' of some sort attached to the truck rail? Are these attached to the existing cargo rail system?

I have a 6 foot bed and a Back Flip knock off from Amazon. It works great for me and was reasonably priced. Easy on and off. Does what I need.

Looks like I will really check into the Lomax. I like the clamping system, at least from what I have seen here. Many thanks to everyone here!

Had the OEM trifold for a while before I bought a cap. That one was great. Check FB marketplace, that’s where I sold mine. Make sure to try and get the bed rails swapped when you buy it. Will make life easier doing the install.

Seven people here recommend the Backflip, say they really like it, but you want to go with the Lomax only one person recommends:confused: Two or three even recommend the OEM?
