It can be done,by someone with much more patience than I have. I had lower part of my truck wrapped to help reduce rock chips.BBAFD39A-CB28-4778-B6C4-8C1D7C5DE9B2.jpg

Wow, that panel looks nice! I want to do my tailgate cause it gets scratched a lot.

The other issue is what color to choose. there's like a billion.

What color is your truck? I went with carbon fiber, cause it looks good with just about any color.

Gray, but I'm kind of eccentric when it comes to colors. So I was thinking an orange grill would be cool

Yep...That would make it pop,I went the other route. I pretty much blacked everything out to give it that stealthy look.

I've been meaning to try it on the chrome surround portion of the grille. Probably a matte black. Seems a bit more appealing than the plasitdip route, but probably 10x more challenging. I suppose I'm up for that.

    I absolutely did.
I bought a 2011 grill found for $40! It had the chrome surround so absolutely needed to be covered. I'd previously bought some cheap ebay wrap for unknown projects so here it is and it worked just fine.
I bought several colors, matte black, black carbon fibre, grey carbon fibre and blue carbon fibre. Chose the blue carbon to see what it would look like. I've spray painted over wrap before and it works fine so the color can be changed any time.

I first tried using one large piece which quickly warped and wrinkled the carbon pattern. So I ended up using 6 pieces. Started with the flatter tops and bottoms to get the hang of it. Then the 4 corners. Used the wife's hair dryer for heat to soften the wrap to form around the curves. A heat gun is way too hot.

I even wrapped the logo with black carbon. Some chrome edges show so I sprayed it with plasti-dip to cover the edges.

This took about 3 hours in the basement, on a box.

    See the pics.
