Anyone using 4runner trail wheels on there 3rd gen? post pics

What kind of cap is that on the front wheel on the first pic? I have these wheels also, but I like the look better with a shallow cap. That bronze is sick btw!

 

Looks like the standard/stock cap that has been separated- painted- and a gel sticker added

Adding mine in the mix. Wheels are from a 2020 4Runner TRD Off-Road Premium. Installed with Spidertrax. About .8” poke outside of wheel well.

 

Just picked up a set of 20 TRD and sold my aftermarket wheels and tires.. I love the look and the ride! Much better on the factory wheels.
No more rub and less squirrely on the interstate, but still every bit as capable.

What were your issues with the SCS?

 

I really like these wheels. I’m not a fan of that silver ring in the middle of the wheel though.

 

Looks much better all black. Did you paint or dip those?

My wife has these wheels with winter tires on her 4Runner. I'll probably make the caps black before I throw the winters on in the next couple weeks.

 

Thanks! I just took the little silver rings off. It’s just little metal tabs holding them in place. Then, I Plasti-dipped the emblem. If I didn’t have black lugs, I probably would have dipped them black as well.

 

I did the same thing. They look much better without the rings and the emblem painted black.

It's the factory color for the 4runner trail special edition.

 

I just saw your earlier post. I’ve seen a few of those wheels on the road, very cool. Better with a blacked out center.

Hey guys, looking to add some of these wheels to my SR 4x4 crew cab. I have steel wheels currently (Yes, I know those lug nuts won't work with the alloy wheels.) Can I use the OEM tacoma lug nuts that are meant for alloy wheels? I looked up the part #'s and the tacoma lug nut is not the same as the 4 runner. Which are you guys using? Are the longer lugs okay to work or do I need the shorter ones? This is the last detail I need to nail down before I pull the trigger on a set of these with some new tires.

 

I've been using the OEM lugs that came on my 2016 TRD OR with no issues for the past 40K miles.

Anyone using this wheel with 265/70/17 tire on stock suspension **AND** the oem mud flaps? Have an opportunity to get these but want to keep my mud flaps.
