It's time to change the break pads, and I would like to know if anyone used Hawk Performance LTS break pads and how they performed comparing with factory.

    Thanks!

I'm using them. Work just fine, no noise, however after they broke in they seem to leave more dust than when originally installed. I'm not talking, blacked out wheels, amount of dust, but a little more than factory.

I've used them day to day, off-roading, and towed a 6x12 tandem axle uhaul trailer over 1K miles.

I put them on about 2 years ago I drive about 9-10k a year mostly freeway traffic stop and go. I just had them checked the other day still have 8mm on them not bad but like BadBrains said little more brake dust than OEM, I like them I bought another pair for when they need replacing.

Anyone tried ceramic brake pads on their Tacoma?

The reason I asked is that the OEM brake pads especially the fronts on my Corvette dusted the wheels something awful. When I changed to drilled/slotted rotors I also changed to ceramic brake pads. Hardly any brake dust and stop great.

Might get the same results with my Taco.

I heard from a good source that ceramic pads are hard on rotors. I have no experience with them though.

I had Wagner thermo quiet ceramics on my 1st gen and they stopped nice with very little dust. Can't speak for wear as I traded up for my 15 before they needed inspection.

I have also heard this, and although I haven't had any experience with them but my auto shop buddy (who God knows what he does to his vehicles) had his ceramic brakes actually crack in half

I have them installed right now with stock rotors. I really don't see any difference from the stock ones since I installed 20k miles ago. I feel confident with them. There is no weird rotor wear as someone said in here

I'm running DBA w hawk LTS. They're good. I'd like a little more initial bite, but they're very progressive. If you jump on the pedal they grip, but they don't have the hard bite like most stock pads. They have good heat characteristics but when they fade that's it. Only happened once and that was coming off engineer pass in the summer.

Less dust = more rotor wear, always a give and take with performance. Want something with low brake fade at high temps? It won't perform well when cold.

I wash my truck regularly, so the dust is a non issue for me.

Lol, stage 5. Still factory sized rotors and factory calipers. I don't have any complaints with EBC pads(rotors aren't special), but I bet they're so predominant on TW because of a banned vendor, who was trying to make a living off TW members. That and he would give members discounts for pimping his parts and getting exposure. Disgusting.

I missed the joke........ They are labeled stage 5 by the manufacturer. Wtf should I have called them when I speak about them? They work much better than my brembo/Hawk combo.

Fwiw, I never seen anyone use the stage 5 here before I bought them....... Not saying I was first by any means..... I just never noticed them....... I do have a friend in a great position for great prices on just about EVERY brake product for these trucks aside from a BBK. So I have my choice of what to run and am not swayed by him.

Nice choice on the rotors, was looking to switch to those after my centric 125 series craps out.
