No, I haven't used, but I will say- the best thing for security of most anything (house, vehicle, etc) is layers of security. I'm sure some will poo poo this for a high tech gadget, but if used as part of a layered system, yes it will help. I'm also sure it works well as a deterrent, as a potential thief will most likely see and just move on to the next vehicle without.

I use a club too..just remember to put it on the other side of the steering wheel..aka the lock facing towards the speedometer..to make it even harder to destroy the lock mechanism..

Unfortunately, in these days of Battery Powered Sawzalls, “The Club” is a deterrent at best. If it encourages a thief to move on to the next vehicle, it has done about all it is going to do. If a thief wants your vehicle and he has a battery powered cutting tool (or hacksaw for that matter) he can cut the steering wheel on either side of the club and remove the club. If a determined thief really wants your vehicle he is going to get it.

Huge visual deterrent to the casual thief. I used one that didn't lock for years lol. Can't prove it's effectiveness but had a 97 gti with no locks parked in hull Quebec for years

I used one back in the early 90's in CA (Stockton). Then I got out of the military and moved somewhere I no longer needed it. Watching a guy cut through a steering wheel with a hacksaw in 10 seconds really made me question the effectiveness. It probably gave me more of a false sense of security. But there is something to be said for layers.

    I like post 5.

I park my tacoma in the garage most of the time, but I’ve had the same “truck club” since I got my first (Toyota) truck in 1993 and still use it everyday on my 3rd gen 4runner. Sure there are ways to defeat it, but you can say that about every lock on everything you own. Most thieves aren’t carrying around cordless sawzalls and 99.99% will move onto an easier target as soon as they see anything that is going to cost them more time.

Stockton in the early 90's huh? I was born and raised in Stockton, graduated high-school in 94 and immediately left for Oregon. Other than a short stint back caring for my pops in the mid 2000's, I never looked back. Are you from the 209? :D

As to this thread, I use Club and have some hidden air tags, motion lights, and after market motion alarm. Still have to install a kill switch but I need to find someone to help with that since I'm not super savvy with that sort of thing.

Just a deterrent so maybe they would move on. I will see about putting it on different so the lock is harder to get to. 246E9DA8-39BA-4B82-B3D3-599F74F9D55F.jpg

I've had one for every car/truck I've owned for the last 30 years. It's inexpensive insurance..

    No, it's only a 3 second deterrent.
There's really no way to secure your vehicle a 100%, but an alarm, club, battery disconnect, and rattle snakes will slow them down.
