A local Tractor Supply Co. has them for around $60 or so. They are rated at 2.5 ton and go up to 20.8" - are these any good? Also, would it work on my stock (non-lifted) '08 TRD w/ the off road package? Or should I look elsewhere? Thanks in advance!

I have a big red 3.5 Ton that I was told to throw away at work because it was a return. So I threw it away (in my truck bed).

I beat it to death and it works great. Decent brand but DO NOT ever adjust them, they will go bad.

A 2.5 should work fine on a non lifted tacoma.

Go with the OTC jacks, there are only 3 mfg. for jacks. OTC is an American brand, parts are available, Big Red, Craftsman ect. are foreign made and no parts are available. Check out the OTC Stinger.

Spaceman don't always go cheap when it comes to lifting, The Big Red is junk, At my garage all I get is the OTC jacks. they might cost a little more now but if you have to get anther one when the Big Red fails you could just have gotten the better one first.

most of the jacks you see today are made by the same mfg. just relabeled for there customers.

OTC is made in china now and quality has dropped off as well.

A real american quality jack is going to cost you $300+

Have had some china jacks last about ten years with more than average use for a home wrencher. Read up reviews and buyer beware, some are really junk.

I personally own a harbor freight 2.5 ton low profile jack. its been great and I imagine It is the same as any other Chinese jack. no leak-down, and controls are predictable.

you can glance at it and tell its a pos. but since I have jackstands, I never let the hydraulic be responsible for my life or my truck's. I think its ok to use a cheap jack as long as you never let it hold the vehicle with tires removed and or you are under it

Looking online. Some OTC's are USA, some are China. So brand name on a jack means little. Look to see where it actually was made.

Always read directions...... Most need to be bled of air iirc before use.

I've had my craftsman black and silver floorjack for a good 5yrs and never had an issue despite claims its a pos.

If u wanna lift from the frame, and get wheels off the ground, u may want a block of wood handy. If u plan on lifting the truck later on, buy some tall 6 ton stands now.

I'm only lifted at 2" tops and regular stands didn't touch my frame rails with all 4 tires still on the ground.

Did not state that yours was China made but that they are china made "now"

Hold on to any jack that has a U-cup for a seal. It will outlast a o-ring jack for sure. You can convert oring jacks to ucup but need to machine it to fit. There are rebuild kits for most jacks still but design and parts are key.

OTC switched to off shore jacks a couple years back. Previously they were usa made they only have one line left I believe which is USA made by another company for them and just rebranded with their name. Just another sell out us company.

Hein Werner is a nice brand. Cost is not everything as stated you need to find out what seals are in the unit before purchase. Seen 400+ jacks with crappy o-ring setups in them.
