I drove a couple They Drive pretty nice.. I like the redesign on the outside and on the inside. With that being said I’m still purchasing another taco.. but the Nissan does have more power than the V6 Tacoma ..

I have . Steering was very heavy. Transmission and power feels better than the taco. I thought I was fully decided on a new taco but am test driving again tomorrow to see if I can get used to the super heavy steering feel. Still undecided how I feel about it. I'm so indecisive with cars :annoyed::anonymous:

If you plan on offroading, take a look at the clearance underneath and compare it to the tacoma.

I get that the diff is the low point, but their frames hang really low. Which results in better cabin space but translates to poor crossover angles.

It's got more power than the Taco.....

Everything has got "more power" than a Taco.

None have the same reliability and potential longevity.

The Nissans always looks better on paper than the Tacos tech wise but thats about it. They basic structure is still relatively the same and that includes the poor steering radius.

And the 2022 tacoma is based on a 2005 as well, they both suffer from age.

Both the Frontier and Tacoma were new in 2005 and the Tacoma was better back then.

I had a 2006 Xrerra untill a few months ago, bought it new. If that was available now, id have bought another. Super reliable, great motor. The only rhing that sucked about the frontier to me is the styling. It looked like yhe brown orthopedic shoes of the truck world. Does what you need it to do reliably but with zero style, and almost zero aftermarket compared to a tacoma. Nissan was always behind with supporting their vehicles in that manner.

I was going to get a titan before i settled on the tacoma. For a 55k truck, it was cheap as hell inside, had zero get up and go, and i thought i was going to break the gear shift when id use it. Bummer. But im happy w my tacoma. It was a close to a new Xterra as i could get but have the truck bed i wamted.

Yep. I purchased new Frontier in 2005. Got to 185K before I moved back to Tacoma. It was a pretty solid truck but interior was falling apart.

This was my frustration with the nissan market. Hardly anything for the frontier and only a niche market for the Titan. Great trucks and reliable, but you see after 17 years what nissan is making a clone of, the Taco. And don't get me started on the lack of anything for the Pathfinder.

And not to mention after 10 nissan vehicles, the nissan dealerships were just a-holes to us this last time. So we took our money elsewhere.

I have been hearing that from clients recently. Nissan dealers just trying to fu## customers as much as possible. No thanks.

Still miss my xterra. But the farmer that bought it said i can visit whenever i want. Ha!
Frankenlift. 2 inch body lift, 3 inch suspension lift, 35s, titan front diff and v8 pathfinder half shafts, regeared w a 4 cylinder frontier gears for the rear axle to match the front, arb air locker, on and on and on. This photo is from the spring when it sold.

I have an 05 that I do mild offroading, the aftermarket is brutal, I couldnt even find an add-a-leaf without special ordering it.

I really want an LSD but they are virtually non-existent as well.

So I put all terrains and 4600's on it and called it a day. It does it's job.

That X is pretty bad-ass. Looks like a little all-terrain roach or something ready to jump into any terrain!

Man, back when Nissan was "Datsun", they made some pretty bulletproof cars. I spent an inordinate amount of time in a B210 thru the late 70's. Most of it on top of my smokin' hot high school sweetheart, though. Seats worked pretty well. :headbang:
